6 reasons why the new Lineage 2 Essence is cooler than the old "Line"

Once upon a time, the Korean Lineage 2 was the absolute favorite of gamers: they were chopped into it day and night. Then the grown-up players were sucked in by everyday life, and there was no time left for the "Ruler". In 2019, Lineage 2 Essence appeared, and with it the opportunity to return to the same "tube" fantasy world without prejudice to real life.

The word Essence in the name of the new version makes it clear that it combines the best of Lineage 2. Vivid PvP battles between players, a classic setting, a familiar and beloved universe - all this pleases the eye and warms the soul. The game mechanics are the same and leveling is still the core of the gameplay. But now the autoboy will deal with the monsters instead of you, and you can get to the high levels, where everything is most interesting, faster than in the previous version. And then there are clans and alliances, castle sieges and self-sufficient classes.

Let's remember what the "Second Rulers" line looks like:

• Lineage 2 - appeared in 2003. And four years later, her audience reached 14 million. Over time, the game was overgrown with numerous chronicles - major updates - and entered the markets of many countries. Lineage 2 officially came to Russia in 2008.
• Lineage 2 Classic - appeared in the fall of 2015. This is a hardcore version for fans of the genre that does not forgive mistakes: it will take a long time to swing and hard. It still keeps thousands of players on its servers, bribing them with this complexity.
• Lineage 2 Essence is a new version of the project, released this spring. It features the familiar old-school décor, music, races and classes. But now all this is intended for those who cannot spend any free minute in the game.

1. You can play as much as you want. Or as much as you can

• Fast pumping. It is really possible to reach level 20 in less than an hour. After that, you can get the first set of armor, decide on a profession and take quests with reference to it. And grind further, looking at the monitor with one eye: what if the character was killed by monsters or enemies?
• Autoboy. You can turn on mob hunting for the whole day or at night and let the computer fight for you. The productivity of the grind (getting the necessary items when killing a mob) is the same as if you were hunting manually. In addition, a macro system is now available: in it, you can set the characters to use HP potions and XP consumables, which makes hunting even more productive. But keep in mind that auto-hunting will not help you defend the spot and fend off vars. PvP with other characters is led by people just like you.
• Opportunity to yourself buff, that is, temporarily strengthen already at the initial levels. Monsters, of course, are still a formidable force, but with a certain skill, you can even do without a partner-healer who can heal you.
• Donat is, but you can live without it, although it is not very simple. Almost everything that is needed is knocked out from mobs, epic and raid bosses. Also, mobs sometimes drop a special game currency - L-coins. For them in the L-store you can buy boosters, so that ardent opponents of investing in pixels can get hold of boosters without spending a single ruble.

2. Simple teleport: you don't have to run across the entire map

Forget those runs. In Essence, you can quickly move to most of the main locations: just click on them in a separate interface. And there is also a special book: with its help, you can install teleports where it is convenient for you, or bind them to important points on the map for you. This allows you to suddenly attack enemies. In sum, all this provides a comfortable operational farming. We teleport, buff, hunt mobs, repeat.

3. PvP / RK has become more: karma is almost not accrued

Previously, for RK, that is, killing other players who did not touch you, and their pets, gave karma points. And if you embarked on the path of exterminating the innocent, you had to avoid death in every possible way. Indeed, as a punishment, the killers could be deprived of any item of equipment, including those obtained by back-breaking labor in raids.

Now you don’t lose a drop! And you get less karma points after killing a character. Also, speed, defense are reduced, and the more karma points you have, the faster it happens. But the nickname is washed off much faster than in the classic or main Lineage. We can say that Essence is a gift for those who cannot imagine their game without PvP and PK and like to tickle their nerves with their help.

But for those who decided to calmly farm, it will not be easy. After all, if you start an auto hunt for the whole day, there is no guarantee that by the evening you will see your character alive: the RCs are not asleep. There is no automatic resurrection in the game, so you have to look around in search of enemies and killers and go in for a few minutes to restore the character in case of his death. But as compensation, there is an opportunity to arrange a small triumph of justice with your own hands. The game will definitely show who killed you, and you can find the offender and badly annoy him, "draining" in response.

4. Characters are self-sufficient: if you want - solo, if you want - party

In the classic version, it was impossible to do without a party, that is, a group. Usually nine players with different combat roles were united in such a group:

• Tank - has the maximum level of health, takes the main damage, distracts from other players.
• DD - damage dealer - deals maximum damage in the shortest possible time.
• Buffer - spells increase the characteristics of other characters during the battle.
• Healer - resurrects or restores the health level of the entire party.

But it takes time to collect a party. And not every player in the game wants to join an unfamiliar character.

In the new Lineage 2 Essence, level up to 76th, you can do without a party - play solo. Having imposed the necessary buffs on himself, even a weak healer will be able to cope with a strong mob or other player. And no more "did not have time to click on the healing": the customizable system of automatic use of potions itself will make sure that health is replenished. If only the treasured item was at hand. And the player will be able to concentrate on more interesting things: on PvP, choosing targets, programming the sequence of pressing skills and other tactical decisions.

At the senior levels, having played enough solo, you can already think about collecting a party and joining a clan. A great way to experience an adrenaline rush in battle and feel the team spirit, being shoulder to shoulder with two hundred alliance partners in a castle siege. After all, it is for this that the "Ruler" is loved.

By the way, about the sieges of castles. Capture the Stronghold is a massive event that takes place every Sunday. All clans of the server gather at the same time to fight for billions of in-game coins. If you have not yet joined a clan, you can participate in the capture of the stronghold by a mercenary. True, in case of victory, your percentage of the production will be small.

5. Bosses on the surface: scheduled evening raids

There is no need to go down for epic bosses in dungeons in Lineage 2 Essence - they came to the surface, into an open, seamless world. Instances with bosses were removed, only solo-leveling zones remained.

The level of the Core, Orfen and Queen Ant in the game has been raised. Hurray, you can forget about twinks and swing ‑ swing ‑ swing until the rocker breaks down! Epic bosses respawn once a day at the same time. This is convenient for working players who know for sure: in the evening, having enlisted the support of clans, you can go fight with other clans for a raid boss and valuable loot. What could be better? But fight with other players for RB at the level of clans and alliances in Lineage 2 Essence will have to be fiercer. This is the trick - more massive battles, more interesting game.

The Olympics cycle in Lineage 2 Essence has been reduced from a month to a week. And you can fight for the title of hero at least every day! So there will be plenty to do in both PvP and PvE.

6. Redesigned Kamael race: shining and gloomy

Veterans of the game probably saw the beautiful super-creatures of the Kamael, possessing perfect weapons, in previous versions of the game, but in Essence the race was seriously changed. Kamael classes are no longer gender-specific, so anyone can play as an adorable one-winged girl with a huge two-handed sword.

If you accumulate 100 souls, for a short time the Kamael can take on its true form - shining or gloomy. It provides a boost in PvP and PvE.

There are three lines of professions available for the Kamael. The punisher holds back enemies with an ancient sword capable of destroying all living things, the saboteur has a powerful bow, the inquisitor has an elegant rapier. Rapiers and Ancient Swords are only available to Kamael.

Representatives of this race feel much better on sieges than other characters. In addition, when a charming one-winged girl with a huge two-handed sword confidently breaks through a crowd of enemies, it is also beautiful.

What is the bottom line

Lineage 2 Essence is a "Line" that has absorbed the best that it had in the past, discarding routine and adding a lot to the dynamics and excitement. "Ruler" without long runs across the entire map to the goal and many hours of grinding. That is, the good old "Ruler" with a set of new mouth-watering buns.

Here you can quickly go on a raid or go hunting without collecting a party - something that everyone has been waiting for. PvP has been greatly improved, karma for kills almost does not suffer. Remained the siege of the castle with the entire server and the control of cities in the classic setting, clans and alliances, the familiar interface, finally. Everything as we love. We got the delightful L2, the essence of Lineage 2, the dream of fans of the universe who, after 10 years, did not even hope to plunge into the familiar world of Elmoraden again!
