Bitter chocolate is not only tasty, but also healthy. It can also be added to almost any dish - snacks, pastries, sauces and desserts.
1. Chocolate fondue with orange
With the help of fondue, any fruit can be turned into a delicious dessert. You can also dip cookies in it.
Ingredients
- 300 ml of heavy cream;
- 3 tablespoons orange juice
- 340 g dark chocolate;
- 1 tablespoon orange peel
- 1 teaspoon orange liqueur
Preparation
In a small saucepan, combine the cream and orange juice. Heat until mixture starts bubbling around the edges, then remove from heat. Add chopped chocolate, zest and orange liqueur, whisk. If not immediately served, leave the saucepan over low heat to keep the fondue warm.
This dessert can be prepared with other juices, such as raspberry juice, and you can also add cinnamon, nutmeg, hot peppers or peanut butter to it if you wish.
2. Black bean chili with chocolate and coconut
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 6 cloves of garlic;
- 60 g garam masala spice mixture;
- 1 tablespoon of cumin;
- 2 liters of water;
- 450 g dry black beans;
- 1 chili pepper;
- 60 g coconut flakes;
- 2 teaspoons of cocoa.
Preparation
Heat olive oil over medium heat. Chop the garlic finely and fry for five minutes, stirring constantly. Add spices and fry for a few more minutes. Then add water, washed beans, finely chopped chili peppers, coconut and cocoa.
Bring everything to a boil, then reduce heat and cover the skillet with a lid. Leave the chili to simmer for two hours. Then salt and add other ingredients as desired, such as honey. Return the dish to the stove for another 30 minutes or until the beans are cooked through.
If you want to cook chili in a slow cooker, mix all the ingredients and leave them for 6-8 hours on the "Stew" mode.
The finished dish can be supplemented with pieces of chocolate or coconut.
3. Dark chocolate baskets with almond paste
Ingredients
- 200-230 g of dark chocolate;
- 120 g almond paste;
- 1 tablespoon honey;
- 2 tablespoons coconut flour
- 2½ teaspoons of starch.
Preparation
Combine almond paste, honey, coconut flour and starch, stir well. Break the chocolate into pieces and melt. Pour the chocolate into small muffin tins, turning them slowly to distribute the chocolate on the sides. Leave room for the almond paste on top.
Place two teaspoons of almond paste in each mold and pour over the chocolate again. Salt as desired and refrigerate until solidified.
4. Babaganush with bitter chocolate
Bitter chocolate will perfectly enrich the taste of this oriental dish. Babaganush is an eggplant appetizer that combines the nutty flavor of sesame paste with cocoa and spices.
Ingredients
- 8 cloves of garlic;
- 4 eggplants;
- 100 g of dark chocolate;
- 1½ teaspoons of cumin;
- 1½ teaspoons of paprika
- 170 g sesame paste;
- 2 tablespoons chopped parsley.
Preparation
Melt the chocolate until it is creamy. Turn on the grill in the oven. Cut the eggplants in half lengthwise. Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment, and place the unpeeled garlic and eggplant, cut side up, on it. Cook them in the oven until tender and browned.
Peel the garlic, spoon out the eggplant pulp and place in a food processor, adding chocolate, spices, sesame paste and parsley. Puree and serve with naan tortillas.
5. Homemade dark chocolate
You can not only buy chocolate in the store, but also make it yourself. So you can definitely get a natural and tasty product.
Ingredients
- 120 g coconut oil;
- 120 g cocoa;
- 3 tablespoons of honey;
- ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract.
Preparation
Melt the coconut oil in a deep bowl. Stir in the rest of the ingredients slowly until you have a smooth, viscous consistency. Pour into a mold and refrigerate for an hour.
Maple syrup can also be used in place of honey. Orange peel, peanut butter, hot peppers, chopped mint leaves, nuts and cinnamon also go well with chocolate. Add any ingredients you like while the chocolate is still liquid.
