Who does Control
The game is being developed by the Finnish studio Remedy Entertainment, which most people know from the legendary noir action game Max Payne. The company also released the Twin Peaks-inspired adventure thriller Alan Wake and the time-management action movie Quantum Break.
There are a couple of other projects in Remedy Entertainment's track record. For example, the Death Rally survival race. But those waiting for Control should pay attention to the studio's actions. It is to them, and especially to Quantum Break, that the new game is most similar.
What Control will be about
The project will tell about a girl named Jesse Fayden. As a child, as a result of an accident, she developed superpowers. And suddenly she is appointed director of the Federal Bureau of Control, a secret organization in New York.
One day the agency takes over an extraterrestrial life form. Jesse notices that something is wrong with the bureau staff: they are hovering breathlessly right in the air. With the help of her super powers, the girl will have to figure out what happened in the building and regain control over it.
What the gameplay will be in Control
The developers strive to make sure that players learn the plot not through a pile of videos, but through the world around them. Therefore, a significant part of the time is devoted to the study of locations, and the passage is non-linear in comparison with the previous games of the studio.
The office building is gradually changing and opens up access to secrets. The passage to new locations is to be found with the help of levitation and telekinesis.
The building is in a dilapidated state, and this will play into the hands during the battles. For example, you can create a shield from debris and throw various objects at enemies. And Jesse also has an unusual weapon: it can be transformed into different forms and improved.
As you explore the world around you and complete side quests, the player will find objects of power. They will allow you to unlock new abilities.
Initially, Control was supposed to have a co-op mode. But then Remedy Entertainment dropped the idea to make the project more atmospheric.
Are there any Control trailers
The game was announced at E3 2018. At the same time the first trailer was released. In it, the developers showed the gameplay and hinted what the project would be about.
One of the videos is entirely devoted to the world of Control.
And at the end of March 2019, a video appeared from which you can get a more or less complete picture of the gameplay.
All videos are available on the project. There you can also find developer diaries and a video demonstrating the technical features of the game.
When will Control come out
The game will go on sale on August 27, 2019 on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. On computers, it will only be available on the Epic Games Store for one year.
What are the system requirements for Control
The developers have not yet announced the official system requirements for Control. And the alleged ones are available on the site.
