The second season of the series "The Mandalorian" in the world of "Star Wars" has started on the streaming service Disney +. In the center of the plot is a mercenary (Pedro Pascal), who does not show his face to anyone. In the first season, responsibility unexpectedly fell on him in the form of a young representative of the race, to which the famous Master Yoda belonged (on the Web, the character was immediately dubbed baby Yoda). Now the Mandalorian is looking for a new home for the child, fleeing from pursuers who have some sinister plans for this creature.

So far, only the pilot episode has been released, but now we can say that the continuation of The Mandalorian has raised the level of the project, so it will not disappoint the fans.

Classic plots in the new version

Almost the entire first season brought the viewer back to the style of the original Star Wars trilogy. Initially, George Lucas, coming up with his story, simply compiled popular plots, mixing samurai films, westerns, comics and much more.

In The Mandalorian, the authors did the same: they sent the heroes to hunt a dangerous mercenary, as if in The Unforgiven, or forced them to defend the village from robbers, clearly referring to Akira Kurosawa's Seven Samurai.

In the pilot episode of the second season, Mando again flies to the planet Tatooine. There, the hero teams up with a local marshal to destroy the monster terrorizing the city. Jon Favreau, who directed this episode, is not just not shy about pop culture references - he completely stylizes many of the scenes for classics of Westerns, including hints of a duel in a bar. Moreover, the star of the genre Timothy Olyphant, whom everyone knows at least from Deadwood, was invited to one of the roles.

We can only guess which films will be remembered next, but it is obvious that the authors will retain the nostalgic style.

Of course, the first season of The Mandalorian had a lot of linkages to the main films in the series. However, now they are reaching a new level.

Already during the first episode, Mando returns to his familiar Tatooine, meets with hermits riding on the eternal bows (which, as expected, walk only in a chain), collides with a krait dragon, and at the bar he is served that very blue liquid. There will even be a memory of the explosion of the Death Star.

But in fact, these are more trifles. At some point, the authors will show something that will cause an incredible rush of nostalgia for the classic Star Wars. The hint is quite expected, but no less pleasant from this.

It is already known that Star Wars: Disney + Confirms Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano for The Mandalorian Season 2 Ahsoka Tano from The Clone Wars will appear next, in the live version she will be played by Rosario Dawson. The first episode of the new season runs for 52 minutes. But the creators managed not to miss the dynamics, the story just turned out to be a little more ambitious. And in the beginning they remind of previous events.

At the same time, it is important that the series has retained a direct presentation: one storyline without switches and complications. The viewer is not distracted by unnecessary characters and side stories. Therefore, you can not tear yourself away from viewing.

At the same time, "The Mandalorian" remains not a very serious project, where the plot is presented with humor. Against the backdrop of the very pretentious last parts of Star Wars, this seems like a pleasant outlet.

In the first episode of the new season, baby Yoda appears as a cute grunting toy, while not playing a special role. But there are enough funny moments without him.

It is worth remembering that Oliphant is beautiful not only in westerns, but also in the comedy genre - one "Diet from Santa Clarita" is worth a lot. In The Mandalorian, the actor is given room for both the tough guy image and the jokes. Well, the cutest droids and aliens with their strange language only add to the surroundings.

It is difficult to say whether the authors will be able to keep the declared level further, but the first episode of the second season of "The Mandalorian" leaves the most positive impressions. The series continues to evoke nostalgia, while the authors do not mark time, but develop the plot in an interesting way, luring both with references and new stories.
