The Dark Reader extension adds a night mode to the browser, which replaces light shades of web pages with dark ones. The white background becomes almost black, and the black text becomes white. The extension handles other colors as well.

This is what the page looks like in its original form:

You can switch between light (day) and dark (night) modes using the Dark / Light buttons in the expansion menu. Before that, you need to activate it with the On button or with the Alt + Shift + D key combination.

Conveniently, you can customize the night mode parameters yourself: brightness, contrast, grayscale and sepia. By adjusting these values on the Filter tab in the extension menu, you can minimize eye strain as much as possible. If you want, you can customize the light theme in the same way.

By default, Dark Reader adjusts all web resources that the user opens to the current mode. But on the Site List tab, you can add exclusion sites and customize their display separately.

In addition, the extension allows you to select the type and thickness of the font outline in each mode. These options are located on the Font tab.

If you type or read online for a long time, be sure to try Dark Reader. With prolonged use, even a simple color change can be of great help to the eyes.
