The feature is available in the experimental version of Chrome Canary.
Dark interfaces are becoming more and more popular. This is not surprising, since they look aesthetically pleasing, are great for working at late hours of the day or in dimly lit rooms, and even help to save battery.
Google has added night themes to many of its Android apps, is going to implement it in the desktop version of Chrome, and now a similar feature is being tested in the mobile version of the browser.
The experimental Chrome Canary for Android has a switch for night mode. And although the browser is formally considered unstable, this feature already works great. You can try it now and see how convenient it will be to read web pages at night. Here's what to do.
- Install Chrome Canary from the Google Play Store.
-
Launch your browser and type in the address bar
chrome: // flags
- .
- Using the search bar on the settings page, find the item "Android web contents dark mode" - for this you can simply enter the phrase dark mode.
- Set the setting to Enabled.
- Chrome Canary will ask you to reboot - click Relaunch Now.
Now open any site (for example, ours), and see how it has changed.
