A little trick for those using Google search.
Chrome built-in search
For those who use the Chrome browser for surfing, it will be easiest to search for similar pictures:
- Click on the desired graphic and hold your finger until a menu appears.
- Select Find This Image On Google from the menu.
This is, of course, very convenient. But if the desired picture is in the phone's memory, this method will not work. Move on to the next one.
Google Desktop Search
It is very easy to find similar images in desktop browsers using Google Images, but if you have ever opened the mobile version of this page, you may have noticed that it does not allow you to download an image from your smartphone. There are several ways to solve this problem. The easiest is to open the desktop version of Google Images in a mobile browser. Let's take Chrome as an example in Android, but the algorithm is similar in other popular browsers.
- Go to the page in your browser.
- Click on the ellipsis in the upper right corner to open the menu.
- Activate the "Full version" option.
- Click on the camera icon in the Google search bar.
- Tap the "Upload file" tab and select the desired picture from the smartphone's memory.
On iOS, the mechanism is slightly different.
- Go to the page in your browser.
- Open the Share menu.
- Find the item "Full version of the site" there and tap it.
- Click on the camera icon in the Google search bar.
- Tap the "Upload file" tab and select the desired picture from the smartphone's memory.
Search through the service Search by Image
Don't feel like poking around with the desktop version of Google on a small screen? There is another option. The third-party service Search by Image can upload pictures from your smartphone's memory directly to Google search. No unnecessary gestures.
- Open the page in your browser on Android or iOS.
- Click the Upload button and select the desired image in the smartphone gallery.
- Wait for the picture to load and click Show Matches.
Search through mobile apps
There are quite a few apps on Google Play and the App Store that can search images from your gallery. Here are a few to choose from.
Photo Sherlock
The program can search by images from the smartphone's memory or by the pictures taken in it via Google and Yandex. It is enough to click on the gallery or camera icon, crop the picture, if necessary, and touch the "Find" button.
Reversee
Dedicated iOS app. You can search for pictures directly through it, or load images into Reversee for searching from other applications such as Photos, Safari, and Chrome. The Pro version allows you to search through several services at once: Google, Bing and Yandex.
Search By Image
Analogue of Reversee on Android. The search engines Google, TinEye and Yandex are supported. Before uploading, the picture can be rotated or cropped. The program is free, you have to pay only if you want to disable ads.
