Advertising in the interface of Android applications and on websites is very annoying. And if you can get rid of banners in games and utilities by purchasing a premium or by subscribing, then web pages will always "delight" you with offers to increase or buy something.

The most effective way to get rid of ads is to root your smartphone and install something like AdAway. But some users find it difficult, while others do not want to lose the manufacturer's warranty. The solution to the situation is to install DNS66.

DNS66 is a tiny app that can block ads and banners on Android. It works both in programs and on web pages. Its main and indisputable advantage is correct operation without root.

The program does not edit host files, as AdAway does, for which superuser rights are required. Instead, the DNS66 is built into the system as a VPN and allows all web traffic to pass through it.

If the data you upload contains anything that looks like an advertisement, DNS66 will prevent the banner from loading. This will not only save you from annoying ads and videos, but also save mobile traffic.

The DNS66 interface is simple. All you need to do is install the application, open it and click the "Run" button. The system will ask you for permission to create a VPN service - click OK.

That's it, ad filtering has started. DNS66 will be launched by default at system startup.

On the Hosts tab, you will see a list of advertising sources that the application will filter. This is where you want to enable daily list updates so that DNS66 can respond to new ads in a timely manner.

On the "Applications" tab, you can configure the list of exclusions - in case some program for you does not work correctly with cut banners.

DNS66 works pretty well. The only drawback: on some firmwares, advertising is not cut out without leaving a trace - empty white fields remain in its place. However, this is not particularly striking.

DNS66 is not found on Google Play, but it can be downloaded from a third-party source - F-Droid. Just click Download APK and install the app.
