These gadgets are definitely not worse, and in some ways even better than the most advanced iPhone of 2020.
The iPhone 12 Pro Max is Apple's top smartphone. It has the largest screen, the most powerful processor, and the coolest cameras among all the company's mobile gadgets. But it also has enough shortcomings, and this is not only the lack of a charging unit or the high price.
If the cons of the iPhone 12 Pro Max are critical to you, and you are not tied to the Apple ecosystem, you can find a good alternative among the flagship Android smartphones of 2020.
1. Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra
Increasing the refresh rate of the smartphone display from 60 Hz to 90 and even 120 Hz gives more smoothness when switching between applications, scrolling through the tape and in some games. Using such a device is much more pleasant.
The Galaxy Note 20 Ultra has a larger display than the iPhone 12 Pro Max: 6.9 inches with a 120Hz refresh rate versus 6.7 inches and 60Hz, respectively. In addition to the high-quality screen, the flagship Samsung is praised for its excellent camera, where the resolution of the main module is as much as 108 megapixels, 50x digital zoom (you can shoot lunar craters or neighbors in the house opposite) and, of course, the stylus.
2. Huawei Mate 40 Pro
The iPhone 12 Pro Max is great at taking pictures in any mode, but still has annoying flaws in its camera. For example, there is no support for night mode in a telephoto lens, so shooting close-ups at night will be difficult.
A decent alternative among 2020 camera phones is the Huawei Mate 40 Pro. Combine Leica lenses with advanced post-processing algorithms to deliver really cool photos with great detail in any light. In addition, the flagship from Huawei can offer a spectacularly curved display with a diagonal of 6, 7 inches, a top-end Kirin processor and incredibly fast charging - both wired and wireless. Moreover, the latter is not only faster than MagSafe, but also reversible - you can recharge your neighbor's iPhone.
The owner of the Mate 40 Pro will have to sacrifice one thing: Google services. But for almost all of them, Huawei has already created good alternatives in its own app ecosystem.
3. Realme X3 SuperZoom
Another significant disadvantage of the iPhone 12 Pro Max camera is a small optical zoom, which gives an approximation of only 2.5 times. Here it is even surpassed by the Realme X3 SuperZoom for little (by Apple's standards, of course) money. This Android smartphone has 5x optical zoom and 60x digital zoom. In some points, the Realme X3 SuperZoom camera is inferior to the Apple flagship - for example, in night photography. But in normal light, the photos come out great.
Back in Realme X3, SuperZoom is attracted by a 120Hz display, a powerful overclocked Snapdragon 855 Plus processor and a liquid cooling system, which comes in handy if you like games with resource-intensive graphics. Well, three times less price, of course.
4. Asus ROG Phone 3
Apple's new A14 Bionic processor, which is used in the iPhone 12 Pro Max, is indeed very fast, but that amount of power is overkill for most tasks. For those who are seriously into games, a special gaming smartphone is more suitable, such as the Asus ROG Phone 3. Its creators paid attention to the problem of heating the case during long gaming sessions, and this is one of the main reasons for throttling, that is, performance drops. In addition to the internal cooling system and ventilation holes, there is even a special cooler in the case - it is attached to the back cover of the smartphone.
The Asus ROG Phone 3 impresses with the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Plus processor, a dizzying 12GB or 16GB of RAM, and a quad microphone system for clear audio for gaming and streaming. It also has a 6,000 mAh battery and reversible charging.
5. Xiaomi Mi 10
Only the lazy did not scold the iPhone 12 Pro Max for not the fastest charging and the lack of a recharge unit in the kit. We will not scold, but instead propose to consider the flagship smartphone Xiaomi Mi 10.
This Android gadget also supports fast charging, including wireless, and both of them are faster than the iPhone. And a 30 W adapter, which replenishes a smartphone's resource in an hour, is provided in the kit.
Among other pleasant features of Xiaomi Mi 10, it should be noted a high-quality large AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 90 Hz and a DC Dimming function, which reduces screen flickering, and hence the strain on the eyes.
