5 reasons to wake up early

The most beneficial for sleep is considered to be a gap of only two hours: from 22:00 to 24:00. If you fall asleep before 10pm and don't wake up until 12am, you can easily wake up at 5am. The author, an inveterate owl, experienced this for herself: she adhered to such a regime and at the same time felt great.

During the week during which our family adapted to Kiev time after two months of living "in the future" (the difference with Kiev was +5 hours), waking up at 5 am and going to bed at 10 pm maximum, I managed much more than in month of "night" life.

Now our family has returned to the usual routine, but I am seriously thinking about waking up early again. And there are many more than five reasons for this. It's just that the most basic things fit into these five.

1. Improving health

As mentioned above, between 22:00 and 24:00, the body receives the same magical sleep that allows it to completely rest and renew itself. If you are accustomed to going to bed after midnight, you cannot get adequate rest, even if you sleep 10 hours instead of the standard 7-8. The number of hours can fluctuate depending on physiological characteristics, but you still missed the right time.

A sharp transition to early waking up will not do you any good if you are used to waking up no earlier than 10 in the morning. Therefore, it is better to take your time and try to get up 10-15 minutes earlier every morning. Gradually, you will enter a new rhythm.

2. Time management

When you wake up early, you can do a lot more. First, you can shower while everyone else is asleep and there is no queue for the bathroom. You become much more focused, you can take your time to think about the upcoming day with a cup of coffee and go to work in a state of full combat readiness.

The main thing is to completely exclude the use of the Snooze button in the alarm clock.

3. Fulfillment of desires

Everyone has something that he really likes to do, but for which he constantly does not have enough time. Morning is a great time to do this. For example, read a book or go to yoga: in many schools, classes start early enough so that after that you can get to work on time. And if you dare to go for a run, then you will have enough time to take a shower and take your time for breakfast.

You can also start drawing, blogging, knitting, collecting models, and so on. Morning hours are just as good for a hobby as evening hours, and sometimes even better, especially if you have children.

4. You don't put off anything until tomorrow

In addition to pleasant things, each of us has chores around the house that we really don't want to do in the evening after a working day. You don't always want to spend the morning on household chores either, but sometimes it's better to deal with them early.

Just think, how many times have you told yourself that you will do it tomorrow, and “tomorrow” never came?

5. Everything counts

Switching to a new daily routine, like instilling any other good habit, is quite difficult, and some require some kind of encouragement for this. That said, the encouragement should also be helpful (not the extra hours in bed on Sunday morning!). For example, you can keep a diary of your waking up in the morning and write down everything that you have time to do in the morning and for the whole day in general. Moreover, in the morning it is worth setting aside your section, so that later you can evaluate how much you have done thanks to early wakes.

Reread these notes at the end of each week (or at the end of each day), and you will get great pleasure from the realization that now you have time not only to do your job, but also to do what you really like and to which your hands did not reach before. - for lack of time.

Outcomes

When you wake up early, you get more done than in your normal day. You become more focused, and the morning energy is enough for the whole day. In the evening, you do not feel squeezed out like a lemon: you just want to sleep, and not switch off and forget. In the morning, you manage to do things that previously simply did not fit into your schedule.
