At the same time, the series has already been extended for a second season, which will also be divided into two parts. They will appear in 2020 and 2021.

So far, Netflix hasn't shown any footage from the sequel. There is only a small video about the extension of the series.

What is the animated series "Disappointment"

The action takes place in the fairy kingdom of Dreamlandia. Princess Tiabini (or simply Bean) lives with her father and stepmother - King Zog and Queen Una. Bean lives aimlessly and regularly gets drunk in bars, and her father wants to marry her to the prince for the sake of political union.

Before the wedding, mysterious sorcerers send the demon Lucie to the princess, who must persuade her to the "dark side". And then the girl meets with Elfo - an elf who fled his country in search of adventure. Zog, possessed by the creation of an elixir of immortality, for which the blood of an elf is needed, tries to catch Elfo, but Bean saves him.

And throughout the series, the princess, the elf and the demon get into constant trouble, which they themselves arrange.

How did the 1st half of the season end?

In the season finale, it was revealed that Bean's real mother, Queen Dagmar, had been in the castle all the time: she once drank poison and turned into a statue. To save her, Zog tried to make an elixir.

Elfo was accidentally shot in the back, and Bean had to choose between reviving her mother or saving her friend. She chose Queen Dagmar. And, as it turned out, in vain.

Once she wanted to poison Zog, but her daughter mixed up their glasses. And in fact, the queen is in cahoots with the emperor Cloyd and the sorceress from the state of Maru, who sent Lucie. They have turned to stone all the inhabitants of the prosperous country of Cremorra, and now they want to destroy Dreamlandia.

Dagmar turned almost all the inhabitants of the kingdom into statues, and she sailed with Bean on a ship. Zog was left alone in the castle. Lucie met someone in a dark corridor, and it looks like he was captured.

What will be in the sequel

The post-credits scene for Episode 10 shows someone dragging Elfo's lifeless body onto the shore. Considering that he is one of the main characters, he will probably be revived further. And part of the plot will be devoted to its origin. After all, it turned out that Elfo is not quite an elf (if you look closely, you can see from the very beginning that he is not very similar to his relatives).

Bean will probably find out the reasons for her mother's betrayal, and then she will save her father and Dreamlandia. Whom Lucie will be helping is still unclear. After all, he initially obeyed Cloyd and the witch, but he became very friendly with the princess and the elf.

How Disappointment relates to The Simpsons and Futurama

Disappointment Season 2: Fry Freeze

The creator of all three series, Matt Groening, always draws characters in a special manner. And this, of course, makes fans think that the stories are set in the same universe. Moreover, the Simpsons and Futurama already had a crossover.

It is also easy to notice the similarities of some of the heroes. King Zog is voiced by the actor who gave the voice to Bender, and something like a robot's antenna sticks out on his crown. Elfo is dressed exactly like Bart and naive like Fry. Bean often resembles Leela.

But that's not all. With "The Simpsons", the new series is associated only with bizarre three-eyed animals, but there are several direct references to "Futurama". Of course, the shot with the wig copying Fry's hairstyle can be considered just a joke. But the appearance of the characters of "Futurama" in the last episode immediately gave rise to various theories.

This moment is easy to miss. The image flashes for just a second as Luci shows Zog the past using a magic ball. At the same time, Professor, Fry and Bender are in this scene in a time machine from the "Late Philip J. Fry" series.

In that episode, the characters traveled in a time machine that could only travel to the future. And to return home, they had to fly twice the full cycle of the universe. Probably, on one of these trips, they ended up in the times of "Disappointment".
