Use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + P to open the program settings.
On the "Interface" tab, find the "Do you want to continue playing?"
Select "Always" and click "Save" at the bottom of the window.

Videos will now play from the moment you closed the player last time. This feature applies to the last 100 videos.

How to use bookmarks

Use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + B to open the "Edit Bookmarks" window.
Click "New" to save the current moment.
To return to the desired moment, double-click on it.

The disadvantage of bookmarks is that they are removed when you close the player. But for VLC, there is a Moments’Tracker extension that solves this problem. To use it, place it in the folder specified in the add-on description, turn on the video and select Bookmark your moments on the View tab.
