Design

The watch case is made of polycarbonate. The front is set with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 with an oleophobic coating. The fit of the materials to each other is excellent, there are no gaps. Also declared water resistance up to 5 ATM - you can swim with a gadget in fresh water.

The weight of 30 g is completely invisible on the hand. The set includes a silicone strap with a standard watch mount, if desired, it can be replaced with an accessory from another brand.

The model is available in three colors: black, blue and pink. Those who like to stand out can put on a bright dial, then the asceticism of the watch will not be so noticeable.

On the side there is a single control button, stylized as a crown. Unlike the Digital Crown in the Apple Watch, it doesn't rotate. Pressing it unlocks the screen, activates the backlight and opens the menu. The rest of the interaction with the device takes place through the touchscreen display.

On the inside there is an optical heart rate monitor and magnetic charging contacts. The watch comes with a USB docking station.

Screen

The display in Amazfit Bip S Lite has a diagonal of 1.28 inches and a resolution of 176 × 176 pixels. The matrix is made using TFT technology and displays 64 colors. Because of this, the picture looks dimmer than on the screens of many competitors. Contrast is also far from the level of modern OLED-matrices.

However, the small number of colors does not prevent the display from displaying the graphical primitives that make up the content. The main feature of the screen is a transflective coating that reflects light. It helps to maintain readability in direct sunlight.

In poor lighting conditions, backlighting comes to the rescue. The only pity is that the watch does not have automatic brightness control, but for such an inexpensive model it is forgivable.

Functions

Bip S Lite works on its own Amazfit OS platform. The interface consists of swipe-toggled widgets and a list of basic functions available at the click of a button.

Widgets display activity information, weather forecasts, and a music player. There is a notification area at the top of the dial - you can read messages without taking your smartphone out of your pocket.

To sync with a smartphone, you need to install the Amazfit Zepp app. It displays all the data from the watch, settings and dial selection are also available through it. A total of 21 options are offered, the most interesting seemed to be stylized as a Casio retro watch.

On the inside of the case, there is Huami BioTracker heart rate sensor, which features high precision and low power consumption. The novelty also monitors the quality of sleep, but there is no oxygen level measurement here.

Autonomy

Bip S Lite received a 200 mAh battery. Combined with an energy efficient screen and lightweight firmware, this is enough for 40-50 days of operation in standard mode (factory settings, one run per week, 100 notifications per day, screen brightness - 10%).

If you put the watch in standby mode, you can get up to 90 days of autonomous operation. This is one of the best indicators among wearable devices, and it is for its autonomy that the new product from Amazfit can be preferred to many competitors. It takes 2.5 hours to recharge the battery from the supplied docking station.

Outcomes

In Russia Amazfit Bip S Lite are sold for 3,990 rubles. For this amount, the user gets outstanding battery life, monitoring of physical activity and sleep, displaying notifications and all the other basic functions that you would expect from a smartwatch.

Of course, you can find fault with the lack of a light sensor, barometer and gyroscope. Nevertheless, the new product will be a good choice for sports and outdoor enthusiasts, especially given the low price.
