How to make alcoholic watermelon lemonade

Watermelon goes well with alcohol. Another proof of this is this aromatic alcoholic lemonade with rosemary and watermelon, which can deliciously refresh you on the hot days of summer.

Ingredients:

• 210 g sugar;
• 500 ml of water;
• ½ medium watermelon;
• 2-3 sprigs of rosemary;
• 210 ml lemon juice;
• 240 ml gin.

Start by preparing the watermelon pulp by gently separating it from the rind with a spoon. Do not forget to taste the watermelon just before you start cooking, as the final amount of sugar in lemonade will depend on its sweetness.

If you are using a pitted watermelon, just beat the pulp with a blender, so the drink will be much thicker. You can quickly and easily remove the seeds from the pulp by rubbing it through a sieve.

Now for the syrup. Sugar syrup can be filled with any flavors, but we find the combination of watermelon with rosemary to be especially successful. Sprigs of rosemary are placed in a saucepan, covered with sugar, covered with water and left over medium heat. Once the sugar crystals have dissolved and you begin to smell the rosemary aroma, remove the dishes from the heat, cover and leave to cool until warm.

Depending on the desired intensity of rosemary flavor, you can add two to four sprigs in the syrup.

Squeeze the juice out of the lemons. Lemons can be additionally combined with other citrus fruits.

Combine watermelon juice with citrus juice and start adding sugar syrup to the mixture in portions, adjusting the sweetness to your taste. Pour in gin at the very end and add about a glass of ice.

The gin in the lemonade can be replaced with another strong alcohol, such as vodka, or you can even leave the lemonade non-alcoholic.
