The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 phablet with a 5 300 mAh battery is officially presented

Xiaomi Mi Max 2 was announced at an official event in Beijing. The main advantage of the novelty is a powerful battery, and the main disappointment is the processor. But first things first.

In terms of battery capacity, Xiaomi Mi Max 2 surpassed the first version of the phablet: the 4,850 mAh battery was replaced with a 5,300 mAh battery. The company claims that in practice, the smartphone will withstand 9 hours of gameplay, 18 hours of video playback, 21 hours of navigation, 57 hours of talk time, and a whopping 10 days of continuous music playback.

In addition, the device supports the fast charging function, which replenishes the charge by 68% in an hour.

Instead of the expected Snapdragon 660, Xiaomi Mi Max 2 received a Snapdragon 625 processor. But the RAM has increased from 3 GB to 4 GB, and this is the only configuration option. The volume of the drive is offered to choose from: 64 GB or 128 GB.

The design of the second generation Mi Max has not undergone significant changes: the fingerprint scanner remained on the rear panel, the audio jack, to the delight of users, was not replaced with USB Type C. The zest of the device was also left - the 6, 44-inch display. But the black frame around the screen has become twice as thin: 0.7 mm versus 1.5 mm.

The smartphone is equipped with a camera with the same 12-megapixel sensor as in the Xiaomi Mi 6. The pixel size has increased to 1.25 um, which promises better image quality, including when shooting at night. Another improvement: instead of one loudspeaker, as in Mi Max, Mi Max 2 received stereo speakers.

The software versions were not reported, but the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is likely to ship with Android 7.1 and an updated MIUI 8.2 proprietary shell.

A phablet with 64 GB of memory on board is priced at $ 248, for a complete set with 128 GB they ask for $ 291. The Mi Max 2 will go on sale on June 1.
