A recent study has proven that drawing is beneficial for all of us, regardless of our artistic ability.

Many did not make drawing their hobby, believing that they were not talented enough for this. I have met people who refuse to draw even a funny face or flower on a notebook sheet, explaining that they simply cannot. Probably, they met with serious criticism of their drawings, which was imprinted in the form of psychological trauma and forever alienated from this art form.

By giving up drawing, you are missing out on a lot. Maybe you won't get recognition or even show your creations to anyone, but the process itself is worth trying.

When you paint, especially with your favorite music, time flies by, you completely immerse yourself in the process and feel great. And this is not only my personal feelings.

The authors of the study, the results of which were published in the journal Art Therapy Girija Kaimal, Kendra Ray, Juan Muniz. have suggested that the creative process significantly lowers stress-related hormone levels. Moreover, no matter how good the final product turns out, the action itself matters.

The participants were given markers, paper, glue, materials to create a collage, and were asked to draw or glue whatever they wanted for 45 minutes.

The researchers found that 75% of the participants had significantly decreased levels of cortisol, the stress hormone.

What's more, there was no link between cortisol levels and the participants' artistic skills. Most people who created something through the experiment felt less stressed, regardless of previous drawing experience and talent.

If you're having a tough day, sit down and draw something. At the same time, you do not need to learn to draw, because it does not matter whether you succeed well or badly. You will relieve tension anyway and feel better.
