In one of my posts, I wrote about an app with a variety of smoothie recipes from Whole Living and Martha Stewart. And, of course, I bought it and decided to try all the recipes gradually.
We replenish our reserves of vitamins and do not forget to count calories. So, the very first recipe (and some of the brightest in color) is apple + carrot + ginger + orange! For this recipe, I had to get hold of a dusty juicer.
I got the juicer because it is quite difficult to find normal carrot juice in our stores. Therefore, it was easier to buy carrots and cook fresh carrot - much tastier and healthier!
In the original recipe, the carrot juice must be frozen and then ground in a blender along with the rest of the ingredients. But since it's getting colder again now, drinking cocktails with ice is not a good idea. I decided to leave the fresh carrot in its original state.
So, for two servings you will need: a glass of carrot juice, a glass of orange juice, 1 green apple, 2 teaspoons of ginger, 1 teaspoon of honey.
What to do with all this? Peel and seed the apple, chop finely (to make it easier to chop in a blender). Grate a small piece of fresh ginger.
If using packaged juices, simply mix all the ingredients in a blender and the smoothie is ready. If you prefer more natural ingredients (as in my case), prepare carrot and orange juices, and then mix everything.
My adjustments. The carrots were sweet and with a pronounced taste, the apple was also sweet, so I: a) added less juice and b) did not add honey - and it turned out so sweet! If the apple is sour, it is better to add a little honey.
I would also recommend adding a little less ginger, as it tastes pretty strong without ice.
Carrots, oranges, and apples will add vitamins and energy, while ginger will help fight off colds. As a result, you get a vitamin bomb with an antiseptic effect;)
To your health!
