A few tips for those who have gone too far the day before and want to return to life without harming themselves even more.
Yesterday it was so much fun, and today you are texting your best friend with a shaking hand that you will never - never again, never - you will not drink so much. Every rustle echoes in my head, and things happen in my mouth that it’s better not to describe. Well, let's talk about how to cope with a hangover and what to avoid while trying to bring yourself into a divine form.
What causes a hangover?
A hangover occurs mainly due to the intoxication of the body with alcohol breakdown products and a lack of fluid in the vessels. Alcohol has a diuretic effect, and also irritates the walls of the stomach, helps to lower blood sugar levels, and dilates blood vessels. As a result, you feel sleepy and unable to concentrate.
Is it possible to take and recover from a hangover?
Unfortunately, medicine is powerless here. But on the other hand, this is the very case when time really heals. It is also possible and necessary to help your body restore fluid balance, especially if you have not done without hugging the toilet. Signs of dehydration are dry mouth, intense thirst, and dizziness. It is best to improve your health with fluids with electrolytes such as potassium, sodium, and glucose.
What to do?
1. Sleep
Sleep is definitely the best way to cope with a hangover. Since your chief doctor is now time, why not sleep while it heals you?
2. There are eggs
Eggs contain cysteine, which breaks down the hangover-causing acetic acid aldehyde in the liver.
3. Drink a lot of water
Drinking plenty of water helps to cope with the lack of fluid in the vessels, and also neutralizes the contents of the stomach. It does not hurt to add salt and sugar to the water to restore the balance of sodium and glycogen that was disturbed the day before.
4. Eat fruit
It is scientifically proven that fruits accelerate the elimination of toxins from the body. They also contain many vitamins and other nutrients that you need now. Bananas are also rich in electrolytes, particularly potassium.
5. Take a multivitamin
You can start with an unsweetened sports drink if you have one at hand. However, then do take a multivitamin that will replenish what you lost yesterday. In addition, vitamins B and C will help get rid of the toxic breakdown products of alcohol.
6. Make exercise
This may seem like an overwhelming task, but try to do a few exercises that will literally make you sweat. Of course, interval training will not be easy for you, but it can get you back on your feet pretty quickly. At the same time, refrain from jumping, especially if the stomach is still restless.
7. Do not take ibuprofen, paracetamol, or aspirin
You may have heard from friends that a pill of ibuprofen or paracetamol is what you need the morning after yesterday. You may be able to relieve headaches this way, but also damage your liver. The fact is that even in the morning your liver is still processing yesterday's alcohol and the extra drug will not make it easier for it. Even a good old aspirin tablet taken before bed, combined with alcohol, can lead to stomach bleeding.
