How to get the most out of every day

When Hal Elrod was 20 years old, he was involved in a terrible car accident. A truck driven by a drunk driver crashed into his car. Hal had 11 broken bones and severe brain damage. His heart stopped, he stopped breathing. For six minutes he was in a state of clinical death.

The doctors said that he would no longer walk. However, contrary to medical predictions and the temptation to consider himself a victim, Hal ran an ultramarathon, became a bestselling author, musician, husband, father and a motivational speaker on a global scale. Hal has dedicated his life to showing people how to take the blows of fate and how to realize the potential that lies within each of us.

Hal has written a book in which he explains why the first hour after waking up is so important to us and how the right morning can make the day bright and happy, but our whole life.

It's time to wake up

Waking up and having a morning routine (or lack thereof) have a huge impact on success in all areas of life. It's simple. A focused, productive and successful morning generates the same day. And this inevitably leads to a successful life. Likewise, an unproductive and mediocre morning creates the same day. And gray life.

By changing the times and rituals of getting up in the morning, you can dramatically improve any aspect of your life. It is enough to devote yourself just 60 minutes in the morning, performing six simple steps. 10 minutes are allotted for each. Moreover, it is not necessary to do this early in the morning, most importantly, in the first hour after waking up. And it works. You only need 30 days to practice becoming a habit.

Hal offers the following morning rituals: meditation, visualization, reading, morning pages, exercise, and affirmations. But by and large, it is important to understand the very principle of choosing techniques, and you can adapt them for yourself.

Just imagine: one hour a day for self-development is 15 days of round-the-clock work on yourself a year. And if you practice it for 10 years? This is already half a year of continuous work on oneself. The results will not keep you waiting.

To wake up tomorrow, you need to go to bed today

For a successful awakening, it is not enough to set five alarms or jump up and run to the shower as soon as possible. First you need to properly prepare for bed.

Create a comfortable environment for a good sleep. It should not be stuffy in your bedroom, otherwise you will not be able to fall asleep for a long time and the whole night will pass half asleep, which will not allow your brain to relax and rest. If the room is too cold, you risk not finding the strength to get out from under the covers in the morning. In this case, a timer heater can help. Half an hour or an hour before waking up, it will turn on and fill the room with warmth.

Prepare in advance what you need in the morning. On the table next to my bed are always a couple of my favorite self-development books, a notebook and a glass of water.

Avoid watching TV or working on a computer an hour before going to bed. It is better to spend this time in a calm atmosphere, reading a book, but not an electronic one, but the most ordinary one - a paper one. Before going to bed, turn off all lights and electrical appliances so that nothing distracts you from your main goal - how to get a good night's sleep. Try to relax your whole body, free your mind from thoughts of tomorrow. You will still have time to think about it, because it will come soon.

The first moments

Start your awakening without fuss or rush. You don't need to jump up right away and rush about the house randomly, because you have not woken up to the end yet. Better to spend the first minutes of the new day in this way: drink a glass of water (this will set your body up to awaken) and sit in peace and quiet.

Breathe slowly, take a few deep breaths - this will saturate your brain with oxygen. You can devote this time to meditation or say to yourself words of gratitude to God, yourself, your loved ones. Do not think about plans for the day and do not think about yesterday's problems, stay here and now. So you will tune in to live this day consciously, without fuss and stress.

The best time to train your subconscious mind

Reading affirmations aloud in the morning is the most effective way to reinforce them in your subconscious mind. These verbal formulas will remind you of your top priorities and limitless possibilities. Each morning, you will focus on the most important things, increasing your level of motivation.

Your self-confidence will grow. Very soon you will feel that already in the first minutes after awakening you are full of energy for new deeds and accomplishments. Moreover, you will gain faith that you can really change your life and are ready to start doing it right now.

If you are skeptical about this practice, feel free to replace it with another that will add confidence to you. For example, take a piece of paper or a notebook (prepare it in advance, before bed) and write down everything for which you thank your destiny. Write about the accomplishments you are proud of and the goals you are striving for that day. It will boost your self-esteem, inspire and build confidence.

Mandatory practice

“A person who does not read has not the slightest advantage over someone who cannot read,” wrote Mark Twain. We always find excuses for why we don't have time to read. But 10 minutes is easy to find.

Reading is one of the obligatory morning practices. It should not be replaced by anything else. This is the fastest way to transform any area of your life.

Think about it: 10 minutes of reading every day = 3,650 pages a year = 18 books = 18 outstanding people you can talk to whenever you want.

Read several pages, find and highlight valuable ideas and implement them on the same day.

Reread personal development books. Well, you know how it sometimes happens: you hear something over and over again, but, in fact, you do not draw any conclusions from it, but one fine day it finally dawns on you. And you understand: this is it. Therefore, I always read books at least twice.

Movement towards success

Another required practice is movement. You need to completely wake up your body, activate the cardiovascular system. It doesn't matter what kind of exercises you perform. This can be side bends, squats, dancing, or running in place. Any physical activity will rid your body of sleep residues and give it a boost of energy. Your brain will receive an adrenaline rush with oxygen, this will allow you to be alert and focused.

Take just 30 days to make your life better. Whatever your past, you can transform your future by changing the present. Make up your mind.
