Based on the algorithm introduced by a person, the computer will calculate and present everything in a visual form, that is, in the form of such a heat map.

The warmer the color at a particular point, the better the signal from the router there, and, accordingly, the quality of the Internet. If the router is in line of sight and the wave is not interfered with by obstacles such as walls, then the signal will be better. This is obvious to anyone. But there is also a non-obvious point. There is a phenomenon called a standing wave. At this point, the interference of the incident and reflected waves occurs, as a result of which the signal at this point becomes much worse. You cannot define such zones yourself, but the algorithm developed by Cole takes this phenomenon into account.

In order to make development more accessible, the scientist placed the emulator in an Android application and posted it on Google Play.

The app was noticed by authoritative Western technical publications, as a result of which Cole's development was bought several hundred times in just a few hours. Judging by the reviews and ratings, the algorithm really works.

It is enough to reproduce the floor plan and upload it to the application. After specifying the parameters and position of the router, the simulator will create a signal quality map in the room with high accuracy.
