The official set of Microsoft Office for home and study now costs 6,699 rubles. Buying isn't the only way to get the software you want, however. Here are the ways to use them for free.
1. Use MS Office Online
In a browser on any PC, you can use the usual Microsoft services without any subscriptions or payment. For this, there is a complete set of online versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other programs.
They fully support the familiar formatting of documents and include basic tools, although with a few exceptions. For example, Word Online lacks the WordArt panel, equations and charts, and Excel Online cannot work with custom macros.
Nevertheless, the web versions are fine for opening, viewing and editing Microsoft Office files. You only need a Microsoft account.

2. Install MS Office mobile applications
In addition to online services, mobile versions of MS Office programs are distributed free of charge. On smartphones with large displays, they can be used to view and edit documents, and in the case of tablets, even to type texts and work with voluminous tables.
Free distribution is relevant for all devices based on Android and iOS, with the exception of iPad Pro. To edit Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files, you need an Office 365 subscription.

3. Use Office 365
The cloud-based Office 365 Home, which includes premium versions of the Office apps for six people, is distributed by subscription. A year of use costs 4 399 rubles, but before buying, you can try the service for free for a whole month.

5. Get MS Office when you buy a PC
You can get the official Office for Home programs or a one-year subscription for Office 365 with the purchase of a Windows laptop or tablet. Such promotions are often found in large networks of sales of computer equipment and consumer electronics.
Accordingly, if you were just about to buy a new laptop, you should familiarize yourself with the available offers in advance and find out where Office is already included in the kit.
6. Use Office 365 for students and teachers
For students and teachers, there is a dedicated Office 365 suite designed for educational institutions. You can use it completely free of charge if the educational institution is registered on the Microsoft website.
As part of the free plan, the main programs are available in the web version. Familiar desktop Word, Excel and PowerPoint are available for a fee only.
