The fates of the characters in the series can teach many useful things.

1. Take your shortcomings for granted

Like any dwarf, Tyrion Lannister has a difficult life, even if his family is the richest in the area.

Instead of immediately finishing off the enemy, he carelessly turned away from him and demanded to confess what he had done. This moment was the last for the prince.

Reasonable belief in yourself is the key to success in any endeavors. But you shouldn't overestimate your own strengths and get on the rampage.

3. Develop patience

Varys went from being a petty thief to an influential advisor to the king. He carefully considered every step he took and was never in a hurry to act unless there was a good reason. While the powerful enemies of Varys acted rashly and failed, he slowly and carefully walked towards his goal.

4. Don't be naive

You've probably noticed the contrast between Lord Ned Stark and most of the other characters on the show. In the cynical world of Game of Thrones, this hero has become a real personification of nobility. Even in the face of mortal danger, Stark remained faithful to his ideals to the last.

But naivety and innocence led him to death. With the opportunity to expose and destroy his Lannister enemies, Ned showed weakness and spared them. But as a reward for such a broad gesture, Lord Stark gained nothing but his own death.

Do not be too trusting and idealistic, otherwise life can throw you from heaven to earth at the most unexpected moment.

5. Learn your whole life

Due to his short stature, Tyrion could not master the sword and become a skilled warrior, like his brother. To survive, the dwarf learns to use a much more powerful weapon - his own mind. Hundreds of volumes read have taught Tyrion different languages and made him a witty conversationalist, a wise ruler and a successful treasurer.

6. Cherish loved ones

But as soon as Greyjoy had the opportunity to claim his rights, he did it with particular cynicism. Forgetting the kindness of the Starks, Theon betrayed them and attacked the people who raised him. He did all this to curry favor with his own father and win fame among his people. But instead of the desired Greyjoy, there was reckoning for these sins.

Do not step over loved ones for the sake of personal interests and always respond with good for good.

7. Don't waste your life on trifles

Valar Morghulis. This phrase in fictional language sounds like a refrain throughout the series and means that all people are mortal. The characters use it as a greeting, which is answered with the words Valar Dohaeris - all people serve. These ancient sayings reflect the customs of the Valyrian people, who, according to the plot, have long disappeared from the face of the earth.

If you put the two phrases together, you can interpret them in the words of Littlefinger, one of the most mysterious characters.

Everyone dies sooner or later. But don't worry about death. Think about life and don't lose control over it.
