Lifehacker prepared three energy snacks according to new recipes. It turned out, as always, very tasty, nutritious and healthy. What you need before your workout!
1. Bar with peanut butter, oatmeal, flax seeds and coconut
Ingredients:
- ¾ glasses of walnuts;
- ½ cup ground flax seeds;
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon;
- 2 tablespoons of coconut flakes
- 2 tablespoons chia seeds
- ½ cup of any nut butter;
- 2½ cups coarse oatmeal
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil
- ⅓ glasses of honey;
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract or a pinch of vanillin
- ½ cup dark chocolate, chopped.
Preparation
Grind the walnuts in a food processor. Then add the ground seeds and grind the mixture for 30 seconds.
Then add all the remaining ingredients except the chocolate and grind until smooth. Put everything in a large bowl, add the chocolate and stir again thoroughly.
From the resulting mass, you can form small balls and roll them in cocoa. Or you can put everything in a rectangular shape in a layer of 2, 5–3 cm and send it to the refrigerator for at least an hour. Also, you don't have to grind the flax seeds, which will make your snacks very crispy!
The bars can be stored in the refrigerator for up to one week.
2. Peanut Butter Oatmeal Energy Bar
Ingredients:
- 1 cup peanut butter
- ⅔ glasses of brown sugar;
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract or a pinch of vanillin
- 1 tablespoon flax seeds
- 1 large egg, room temperature
- ½ cup chopped dark chocolate;
- ⅓ glasses of coarse oatmeal;
- a pinch of salt.
Preparation
Combine peanut butter, sugar, salt, baking powder in a bowl and blend until smooth. Then add the seeds, vanilla extract, egg and mix again. The final touch: add the oatmeal and chocolate chips, place on a baking sheet in a 2–2.5 cm layer and bake at 170 ° C for 20 minutes.
3. Nut-caramel bars with chocolate
Ingredients:
- 200 g butter;
- 1 cup of sugar;
- 1 tablespoon honey;
- 3 tablespoons of water;
- 1 cup chopped nuts
- 200 g dark or milk chocolate.
Preparation
Melt the butter in a heavy-bottomed saucepan. Add sugar, honey and water there. Cook until the mixture is caramelized. Then add the nuts, stir well and pour into a rectangular shape.
Leave the caramel to cool. When its surface becomes dense, pour the chocolate melted in a water bath or microwave on top. Cut the cooled tile into pieces and refrigerate.
