This time there will be only two options, but very interesting and delicious! The first is gluten-free raw energy balls, the second is delicious oat bars with apples. Very tasty! Tested by Lifehacker.;)
So, the first option will be very simple and tasty, but the second one will have to tinker a little, since oat bars with apples need to be baked in the oven.
Raw Energy Balls
Ingredients:
- 1 cup oatmeal (or blended oatmeal to a powder)
- 1 1/2 cups finely grated carrots
- ½ cup pitted dates
- 1 cup finely chopped dried apricots
- 1 cup walnuts (or any other)
- a pinch of vanillin;
- 1 tablespoon honey;
- ¼ cup sesame seeds.
Preparation
Put all ingredients, except sesame seeds in a blender and grind until smooth. Roll up small balls from the resulting mixture, roll them in sesame seeds and send them to the refrigerator for several hours.
Since I really love everything chocolate, I decided to add a little cocoa to the mixture - it turned out very tasty! And ready-made sweets can be rolled not only in sesame, but also in cocoa or in a mixture of chopped nuts - any of these options will be delicious. By this time, unfortunately, I ran out of nuts, so it turned out to be done only with sesame seeds and cocoa.
Oat bars with apples
Ingredients:
- 2 cups oatmeal
- 1 ¼ cup flour
- 1 cup sugar (preferably cane sugar)
- 1 ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
- ¾ teaspoon of salt;
- ¼ teaspoon baking powder;
- 12 tablespoons butter, melted
- 5-6 large apples;
- 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar;
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 170 degrees. Combine oatmeal, flour, sugar, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, salt, and baking powder in a large bowl. Then add butter there and mix everything well again. Set aside 1 cup of this mixture and place the rest in a small baking dish (33 x 23 cm).
Cut the apples into thin slices and spread on top of the dough, pour over with lemon juice, sprinkle with 1 tablespoon of sugar and the remaining cinnamon. Put another layer of apples on top and sprinkle them again with the remaining sugar and the mixture for the dough set aside in the cup.
Cover it all with foil and put it in the oven for 30 minutes. The main task is to bake the apples and make them soft. Then remove the foil and leave until the top layer of dough crumbs turns golden (about another 30 minutes).
Take the dish out of the oven, cool and cut into small rectangles.
I noticed that there was too little butter and the base (flour + oatmeal + sugar) crumbled, so I added a little more (not 12, but 16 tablespoons) of butter.
The taste is very similar to oatmeal cookies.:)
