1. Spices

Have you ever tried adding a little spice to ground coffee before brewing? Cinnamon and nutmeg are often added to coffee, but we also recommend experimenting with cloves and ginger, or adding a pinch of cayenne pepper.

In Israel and other countries of the Middle East, strong coffee flavored with cardamom is popular. To prepare it, you will need:

  • half a teaspoon of grains or cardamom pods;
  • a cup of deeply roasted coffee beans;
  • sugar to taste.

Grind the cardamom seeds along with the coffee beans and transfer them together in an airtight container. You can brew your coffee as usual, or try it the traditional way. To do this, pour ½ cup of water into a saucepan and bring to a boil. Then add ¼ cup of coffee / cardamom mixture and sugar to taste. Cook over medium heat for 2-3 minutes. Then remove from heat and let it brew for a minute. Pour the coffee into small cups, leaving most of the grounds in the pot.

2. Condensed milk

The ideal afternoon drink is Vietnamese iced coffee. Add two tablespoons of sweetened condensed milk to strong brewed coffee and cool. So simple, but so delicious.

3. Syrups

Syrups with a wide variety of flavors can now be found in stores. If you prefer strong coffee, it is better to skip fruit toppings and opt for chocolate or vanilla. Syrups with almonds or cinnamon will help to emphasize the bitter taste. For light coffee, syrups with the taste of caramel, berries and fruits are suitable.

4. Vanilla or almond extract

An additive that may already be in your refrigerator can give the coffee an unusual aroma. Add a few drops of vanilla or almond extract to your drink and you're done.

5. Butter

Recently, butter coffee has become a popular drink. We suggest this recipe: mix 1 cup of brewed coffee in a blender with 1 teaspoon of butter and 1 tablespoon of coconut oil. Do not turn off the blender until foam appears.

6. Unusual milk

In stores, you can find vanilla or chocolate flavored almond and coconut milk that pairs perfectly with cold coffee. First, you need to make coffee using the cold brewing method. We will need:

  • ¾ cups of medium roast and coarse coffee beans;
  • large French press.

Pour coffee into a French press and pour 3 cups of filtered water at room temperature. Let it sit for 10 minutes and then stir gently. Cover and let sit at room temperature for 12 hours. Slowly lower the plunger in a French press until all the mixture is at the bottom. You can filter the coffee through a coffee filter if you like. Then refrigerate. Pour in half a cup of coffee concentrate and half a cup of ice-cold milk or water.

You can pour the resulting concentrate into an ice cube tray and send it to the refrigerator. Whenever you feel like grabbing an iced coffee, pour the frozen coffee cubes into a cup and cover everything with almond milk.

Recommendations

  • Store the coffee concentrate in the refrigerator, but no more than three days.
  • To make the coffee stronger, insist it not for 12 hours, but for 24 hours.
  • Stick to a 4 to 1 ratio of water to coffee (or 5 to 1 if you prefer roasted beans).
  • To keep the concentrate longer, add sugar immediately.

7. Whipped cream

Two-in-one topping: both cream and sugar.

eight. Ice cream

The perfect combination: espresso and ice cream. If you are already fed up with the usual glaze, try doing the opposite - make ice cream with coffee. To do this, you will need:

  • 5 servings (½ cup each) mint ice cream
  • ¾ cups of hot brewed coffee.

Divide the ice cream into cups and sprinkle each serving with two tablespoons of coffee. Serve immediately. Some variations of the recipe include whipped cream or a shot of amaretto (however, any other liqueur will work as well).

9. More in total

Making coffee is a field for experimentation. Try adding a little maple syrup, or pomegranate juice, or cocoa powder, or vanilla sugar, or marshmallows, or liqueur (on non-working days, of course). And you will definitely find your perfect drink.
