Tyrion Lannister and Bronn the Blackwater

The story of Tyrion Lannister and the simple mercenary Bronn is, in my opinion, one of the best arcs of all seasons. They met when Tyrion was on the verge of life and death, and this marked the beginning of a long and difficult relationship, which from mutually beneficial cooperation grew into mutual respect and, it seems, nevertheless turned into friendship.

The chemistry between them rests on a difference in character.

Tyrion is a “half-man” suffering from universal hatred (even his own father refused to recognize his son in him to the last) and subconsciously clearly dreaming of fame and recognition (which he directly talks about in a conversation with Jon Snow in the last episode).

Bronn is the most cynical egoist who does not care about any intangible motives at all ("You are in vain trying to please everyone, in the end, you will become the most popular dead man in the city"). And this concern for his own benefit pushes him to good deeds. He saves Tyrion from false accusations and the death penalty, helps him to put things in order in King's Landing, after several seasons he participates in the rescue of Myrcella, tries to protect his people by shooting the dragon, pushes Jaime away from the dragon's fire, and in the end - does not follow the order still very dangerous Cersei and refuses to kill the Lannister brothers (in exchange for a large castle, which is a very, very ephemeral promise that should not seduce a 100% cynic).

In general, in the world of "Game of Thrones", where good heroes are often not so kind, these two slightly immoral characters, two wine lovers and affordable women, are almost the only ones whose actions and motives are reasonable and logical. And they certainly got what they deserved in the end.

Arya Stark

Game of Thrones has been the best TV show for me in years. Have I waited for the denouement? Of course not! How can you wish for the end of what you love so much?

Yes, this season is not what many thought: no confirmation of fan theories, no endless number of unexpected deaths, no intricacies of the plot. Why, "drakaris" made even the Iron Throne. But how many shows ended up the way we wanted?

All the characters became practically a family to me. But most of all, I will miss Arya Stark. From the very first season I knew that this was my girl. Brave, strong, purposeful - a real warrior. After Arya got into the House of the Faceless, her storyline became the most interesting for me. I didn't care what Danny and John were doing there, I wanted more Valar Morgulis and a girl who has no name. I watched the moments with the pie and the "basketball player's jump" 15 times and sobbed with pride!

I will miss her very much. I'm waiting for the Arya Explorer spin-off!

King of the Night

I will miss the King of the Night. This is perhaps one of the most striking negative characters in the entire series. He did not participate in intrigues and did not invent anything, only went to his goal, crushing enemies.

It is a pity that the King of the Night storyline never got a worthy conclusion. It is clear that in this way the authors wanted to reveal the significance of Arya. But the hero, who created a feeling of global and inevitable evil, ended up just getting a knife in the ribs, and all his actions were in vain.

Dog

"Sandor, thank you."

Most of all I miss the King of the Night and the Dog, but since they have already said about the first one, I will write about the younger Clegane. At first, he was nothing but disgusting for his devotion to Joffrey and the Lannister house, but later I began to respect Rory McCann's character and still admire him today.

The dog was the best in Westeros with a sword, but at the same time he renounced the title of knight and hated all knights as much as his brother. Not sparing himself, he helped others more than once, stubbornly walked towards his goal and achieved it with honor. Such heroes are not often found. We will all miss you very much, Sandor of House of Cleganes!

Jon Snow

I will miss Jon Snow: there will no longer be such illogical and inconsistent people in my life.

There will no longer be a person in my life who, in a monarchical society, has the status of a direct heir and profits from everything in general, because he acts as some jug with crow's feet wanted - I cannot find other explanations.

And I will miss, because Jon Snow helped to keep the inner compass: even if you are everyone's favorite, they revive you, you have the right to inherit the throne, it still means absolutely nothing. Only work, only work, only hardcore.

Daenerys Targaryen

Dmitry Sazhko Author.

Personally, I miss a lot of heroes. For Littlefinger, for example: such an impressive mind and such an inglorious finale! Or according to Vagabond: she is very cute, albeit a cruel one. Until recently, he hoped for a plot twist like "Then in Braavos, the Tramp killed Arya in the dark and now walks around, pretending to be her."

But of the main characters, I will miss Daenerys the most. First of all, because throughout the entire series she was, perhaps, the most positive character, except for the noble fool Jon Snow, from whom Danny favorably differed in intelligence. Khaleesi sincerely tried to change the world for the better: to free the slaves, to benefit the suffering, to reward the villains and end wars. Who is to blame that the young queen did not have enough experience to do everything according to the mind, and her advisers like Tyrion and Varys, being next to her, suddenly turned from the smartest people of the Seven Kingdoms into idiots.

In season eight, Danny was downright sorry. She came to Winterfell, wanting to help the Northmen in their fight against the King of the Night. She provided them with immense reinforcements, flawless infantry, dragons. She lost her faithful Jorah Mormont in battle with the undead. Before that, saving the idiot Snow, she sacrificed her dragon, Viserion, in fact, her own child. And how did the northerners answer her? Ingratitude. Sansa treated Daenerys as a personal enemy, and John broke the word given to his beloved and revealed their great secret exactly a minute after vowing to remain silent. Well, the way Danny was turned into a mad queen … It was simply impossible to do it even more clumsy.

Goodbye dear Daenerys. I am sure that if you were accompanied by more worthy advisers, you would become the kindest, fairest and most merciful queen. Oh yeah, and Emilia Clarke is sweetheart.

Tormund

I will miss the leader of the free people of Tormund. To be more precise, a combination of his apparent brutality and inner simplicity and sincerity. I seriously hoped that something would work out for him and Brienne - as for me, they were made for each other. Although, maybe something worked out there - I haven't watched the final episode yet, so I can't know for sure.

The appearance of Tormund has always diluted the sometimes excessive seriousness of what is happening on the screen. That there are only one meaningful glances at Brienne. In the story of how this wildling, in search of shelter, climbed into the belly of a giant, and she then mistook him for her child and gave him her milk for several weeks, the whole essence of this character is covered. Not too important, but sometimes necessary so that the viewer does not die of boredom.

Euron Greyjoy

"I am the man who killed Jaime Lannister."

Alisa Zagryadskaya Author.

Of course, from the point of view of the plot, Euron's line is completely illogical, but at the same time his every appearance was a holiday. Everything you need to know about this character is in the fan video, where he shoots in bursts at dragons, ships, Jon Snow, Jack Sparrow, orcs and the Death Star. Too bad it wasn't included in the show!

In his unbridled pursuit of Cersei, Euron was very good, and their brief but flamboyant alliance was the best pairing of the last season. I will miss his jokes about Jaime.

The vitality of this cheerful psychopath can only be envied. Euron seems to be the only Game of Thrones character who died happy. Whoever sees the glass is always half full.

P. S. Also my hero is Edmur Tully. I could not set fire to my father's funeral boat with a burning arrow. At his wedding, half of the guests cut the other half. His own uncle refused to surrender the castle in exchange for his life. And then Edmure asked to be king, and when his niece asked him to shut up, he hit his sword on the support of the tent. Each of us is sometimes a little Edmure Tully.

Cersei Lannister

Polina Nakrainikova Editor-in-chief.

My favorite Game of Thrones heroes are the charming Tyrion Lannister and the stubborn Arya Stark, as well as the distraught, but absolutely great Daenerys Targaryen. But by the end of the series, I realized that I would not miss any of them. And if my heart will itch for someone, then that someone is Cersei Lannister.

She has been close since the first season. Many of the characters on the show tricked us, seemed kind and stabbed us in the back, but it was always clear about the Lannister sister that we were facing absolute evil. At the same time, Cersei always twisted us around her finger. She gave birth to the greatest villain Joffrey - and loved him like no other mother on the show. She hated Tyrion all her life, but she did not dare to kill him. She destroyed her husband Robert Baratheon, but for some reason it was her, unhappy from the first days of marriage, that I do not want to blame for this.

Cersei gave us the strongest series with wild fire and septa explosion, procession of shame and destruction of the capital - after all, King's Landing was destroyed precisely because of her. And the whole batch of the series also began, in fact, with her and her sinful relationship with Jaime. (But which of us would have resisted Nikolai Koster-Waldau?)

From the first to the last minute, Cersei was the true face of the series: we were shown a painful love for family, true unhappiness and an indomitable lust for power. And behind all this - a truly living woman, queen, mother and mistress.

The castle is destroyed, an unborn child is frozen in the stomach, and the dead Jaime's cold shoulders are forever embraced - this is how the story of Cersei, the first and last villain who frightened us without any dragons, ended. You were never good, but you always shocked, hit the sick person, and when we did not expect this at all, you showed your defenseless heart. Cersei was the focus of everything we loved Game of Thrones for, and I really will miss.
