You can make a natural candle from half an orange, lemon or grapefruit! Of course, it is unlikely that you will urgently cut this out if the light is turned off at your house, but rather use your phone or flashlight. But such candles can be an interesting decoration for an interior or a festive table.
I myself tried to make such a candle, it turned out to be not so difficult, but it looks amusing. In some places, the crust of the fruit shines through, and a warm and slightly magical light is obtained.
1. You will need an orange, lemon, grapefruit, or any other citrus fruit. We cut it in half and remove all the pulp, leaving only the white core. This will be the wick of our candle.
Gently removing all the pulp from a lemon is not easy. I used a thin knife and spoon.

2. Pour any vegetable oil into the resulting bowl. I used regular refined sunflower. That's it, the candle is ready. Just not so easy to set it on fire! I tried to light it for 10-15 minutes using matches and a gas lighter. It lit up only when the wick dried out a little and turned black. If you then extinguish it, then the next time it lights up the first time.

I was afraid that an unpleasant smell of burnt oil would come from such a candle, but I did not notice anything like that.
