Where to stay in Novorossiysk
It is better to look for housing as close to the city center as possible: all the main infrastructure and entertainment are concentrated there. The most unsightly area is considered to be Methodievka. It is located in the industrial part of Novorossiysk in the east, it is not worth settling there: it is extremely inconvenient to get there.
There are still few good rental offers in Novorossiysk. The best hotel in the city at the moment will cost at least 9 350 rubles per day (but at your service there are two swimming pools and delicious breakfasts). A bright room in a new hotel near the city beach costs from 5 330 rubles per night for two adults.
As for the private sector, everything is also quite sad here: there are simply no offers with interesting design solutions in Novorossiysk. Although if you try, you can find a minimalistic option for only 1,600 rubles per day (the hostess even made sure that guests had coffee and oatmeal for breakfast), but within a 20-minute walk from the center.
What sights of Novorossiysk to see
Sudjuk braid
The most famous city beach, which is loved not only by tourists, but also by locals. The spit is well equipped: there are sun loungers, toilets and everything you need to relax. The beach is coarse (although some areas are sprinkled with sand for the convenience of tourists). The entrance to the sea is rocky, so it is better to swim in special shoes. On the right bank of the spit there is a salty estuary, where you can see and feed a variety of birds.
Central city beach and promenade
A popular place for recreation and walking is changing more and more: changing rooms, toilets, and rescue towers appear. Recently, fresh pebbles were brought to the beach, and the coast began to look much tidier than before.
Ensemble-memorial "Malaya Zemlya"
Memorial "Small Land", created by Soviet architects, was opened in memory of the heroism of the soldiers who fought for Novorossiysk during the Great Patriotic War. The most interesting thing is that the territory around the monument was not touched, there are still traces of battles, there are craters from the explosions of shells, trenches, trenches and ditches overgrown with grass.
There is an open-air museum nearby, where you can look at military equipment and weapons (moreover, some of the exhibits were raised from the bottom of the Black Sea). The entrance is paid, but inexpensive - 50 rubles.
Monument to Geshe Kozodoev
In recent years, Novorossiysk has been actively decorated with monuments. There may be different attitudes towards them, but some have already become symbols of the city and have appeared in many tourist photographs. Among them is the monument to Geshe Kozodoev from the film "The Diamond Arm". I must say, the place for the sculpture was chosen strange. After all, the scene of "walking on water" was filmed not at all in Tsemesskaya Bay and not even in Novorossiysk, but in Tuapse.
The ship of military glory "Mikhail Kutuzov"
In the past, the cruiser, which can be seen from almost any part of the embankment, was one of the strongest combat units of the Black Sea Fleet. Now it works as a museum: excursions are held there every half hour (you will have to pay 300 rubles for an adult and 100 rubles for a schoolchild) and tell the history of the ship in detail.
There is also a rather controversial monument to the wives of sailors nearby: the sculptor obviously overdid it a little, working on the girl's figure. And for some reason the lady is looking not into the open sea, but towards the port of Novorossiysk.
Novorossiysk Planetarium named after Gagarin
A small, modest planetarium, where the atmosphere of the Soviet past has been preserved. Visitors praise the lecturer's lively voice, and the educational program can be completed with a walk in the cozy Leninsky Park.
What attractions to see in the vicinity of Novorossiysk
Factory of sparkling wines "Abrau-Durso"
If time permits, go look at the beautiful Abrau Lake and visit the local champagne factory. This can be done by personal transport, taxi or bus (flights 102M and 102A regularly depart from the city bus station).
The tour of the winery itself will cost 1,000 rubles per person, and at the end you will have a tasting. Just be prepared that a Standard Group can be 50-60 Reviewed on Tripadvisor. If this is critical for you, order an individual tour (however, then the price will naturally rise).
Beach "Shirokaya Balka"
Wild beach 9, 5 kilometers from Novorossiysk. A distinctive feature is that all city beaches are located in the bay, and "Shirokaya Balka" outside of it is in the open sea. As elsewhere in Novorossiysk and the suburbs, the beach area is covered with pebbles. At the same time, the water is quite clean and transparent.
Beach "South Ozereevka"
It is located about 12 kilometers from Novorossiysk. To get to the beach, you first need to get to the village of the same name by the road going towards the village of Abrau-Dyurso (by car or by bus 101M). There is clear water, there are many tourists, and in addition to the central one, there are also wild beaches.
Hotel and restaurant complex "Vinoterria"
An atmospheric restaurant with a cozy courtyard and its own vineyard. Here you can taste interesting local cuisine or even stay for a couple of days (one night in a hotel at a restaurant will cost 3,200 rubles).
Where else to go in Novorossiysk
Winery "Myskhako"
Not so long ago, a small factory started working again after several years of oblivion and devastation. Now they conduct excursions and tastings there, and the company store sells wine and champagne (and much cheaper than in retail stores).
Surf Coffee x Neptun and Surf Coffee x Port
Moscow franchise in surfing aesthetics. Coffee is brewed in different ways, and the selection of pastries and snacks is standard: donuts, croissants, cheesecakes, banana bread, cookies, nutritional bars.
No. 35 Coffee & Clothes
A modern space that combines a cafe and a small shop. Here you can not only drink coffee or tea, but also buy clothes, jewelry and stylish organic cosmetics from Russian and foreign brands.
Philosopher coffee shop
Here you will be served delicious waffles and pancakes and treated to excellent coffee (classic or alternative - of your choice). Visitors love the cozy interior and the friendly staff.
What to bring from Novorossiysk
Alcoholic drinks
There are many options: Abrau-Dyurso champagne (sold in almost any store in the city), Myskhako wine, and lovers of the foamy drink can take a popular local Novoross beer as a gift.
Marine souvenirs
The sea is a visiting card of Novorossiysk, and many souvenirs that can be bought in the city are somehow connected with water. These can be fridge magnets, mugs, postcards, or shell products.
Local delicacies
The gastronomic business card of Novorossiysk is anchovy fish. She is so loved here that they even erected a monument. If you are more interested in farm delicacies, you can buy them at the Seasons store (Pionerskaya str., 23A, building 2) - including gourmet pickles from Vinoterria, as well as cheeses, pastries, gingerbread and much more.
