Every year, the Federal Tax Service sends notifications about taxes accrued for the previous year - by mail or electronically to your personal account on the website. The document indicates how much, for what and in what time period you need to pay.
You will receive a notification if you own a house, apartment, room (or shares in them), a garage or parking space, an object of unfinished construction, a car.
Why amend the tax notice

You will be able to correct the shortcomings not only in your data, but also to help older relatives who cannot cope with this task themselves, including remotely. All you need is tax notice data and internet.
On the site, you need to choose from the list which problem you are facing. And if you do not find it in the list, use the appeal. There are three categories of situations to choose from:
- incorrect information about the object of taxation;
- incorrectly specified personal data;
- problems with taking into account benefits.
If your problem is on the list of common and is on the list, you only have to fill in a few fields.
For example, in April last year you sold an apartment, but you were taxed for all 12 months. Select the category "Invalid number of months of ownership per year specified" and proceed to filling out.
Indicate how many months you actually owned the property. Write off the rest of the data from the tax notice.
On the next page, enter your first name, last name, TIN and email address (indicate yours if you make corrections to your grandmother's tax notice).
It remains to wait for the response that will come by email. Usually, the review takes no more than 30 days. In practice, the answer is often much faster.
