In the applications from the Lifehacker collection, there are ready-made programs for strength and crossfit training, the ability to add your own exercises, convenient timers and training history.
For strength training
We've categorized strength sports apps into two categories: self-training and coaching. The applications from the first group have more ready-made programs, and the second is suitable for those who know what to do and only want to keep a training diary.
For self-study
1. Jefit
The app has a large list of exercises with GIFs. You can search by name (application in English), apply filters by loaded muscles and equipment, add to favorites. If you haven't found the exercise you want, you can add your own.
It is very convenient to create your own program. Specify the day, add exercises, edit the number of approaches and repetitions, set the rest time.
Already in the process of training, you can quickly change the weight and number of repetitions, end the approach and turn on the rest timer with a countdown.
Completed workouts are displayed on the calendar.
2. Gym Boom
There are many programs in the application for different tasks and levels of training, but all of them are paid - from 179 rubles. You can create your own workout programs at home or in the gym and practice them.
If during training the weight and repetitions do not change, you can copy the previous approach with one tap. After each set, you can start a rest timer.
In the Reference section, there are translation errors like the "semi-transverse" muscle instead of the "semi-membranous" or the "jerk to the chest" exercise instead of the "take on the chest". But most of the information is correct.

3. GymUp
There are free programs with an indication of the author, many exercises in the database, calculators for calculating 1RM, body proportions, and more.
As you train, you add sets, opening up a new window with weights and reps. You can't just copy the approach with one tap, but you can note whether it was hard for you.
If you set a rest time, 10 seconds before the end, the timer will glow red and beep.
You can plan a workout for one day, add supersets and drop sets, plan the number of approaches and repetitions, and mark the progress.
4. Workout Diary - GymApp
There is a database of exercises with techniques and photos, search by name. You can also go to YouTube to watch the technique, but before that you have to watch the ad several times.
During a workout to add a set, a new window opens each time, the weight and reps are saved from the previous set.

5. Pocket trainer
There are free programs, a database of exercises with photos and videos, the ability to add exercises to your program with one tap directly from the list - this is very convenient.
During a workout, you perform a set on a timer, at the end the rest timer automatically turns on, and the set is added to the completed ones. After each set, the app asks if you have succeeded in completing all the reps with the desired weight.
The history can be viewed in the diary, indicating the desired period of time.
For training with a trainer
1. GymRun
In the GymRun database, you can search for exercises by name and add them to your favorites, which greatly simplifies the search and compilation of the program. You can also search YouTube for the technique of each exercise.
During training, you do not need to switch to new windows to add a set: weight, reps and completed approaches are in one window, which is very convenient.
The history can be viewed in the "Chronicle" section: select a day in the calendar or a specific training session.
2. T Note
There is a database of exercises with descriptions, techniques and photos from bodybuilding.com, all in Russian.
Searching for exercises is inconvenient: you need to go to the sections with the target muscles, there is no search by name. Even when you use a filter, you need to look into the muscle section to see the filtered results.
During training, you need to constantly press the "Add" button to record another approach. All data is stored in history by day.
3. FitProSport
A simple and pleasant-looking application: a minimum of programs, statistics and a diary.
It is convenient to go through a workout. To record a new approach, you do not need to open additional windows, just click on the plus. The timer and stopwatch are available only in the paid version (45 rubles).
There is no general search for exercises, only for a specific muscle group. In order not to search for your exercises in the list, you can create a separate category.
You can see your diaries in the "Training" section through the calendar. Statistics are displayed on the main screen.
Crossfit apps
1. WODster
In the application, you can choose a set from a large database of ready-made workouts, or write down your WOD and attach a photo of the board from the crossfit box.
You can add WOD by time, by the number of rounds, by the EMOM method, by the maximum weight and by the tabata protocol. In any case, you will have suitable timers with a sound signal and the ability to mark closed rounds. And to make it more fun to close them, you can add your own music from downloaded to your device.
At the end, your result is recorded, you can take a photo and leave a comment.
In addition to recording WOD, you can enter personal records into the application, for example, your maximum in strength and weightlifting exercises.
2. SugarWOD
A great app for those who are not afraid of the English language. Unlike the previous one, here you can record not only WOD and records, but also ordinary exercises: cardio, strength, gymnastics.
Everything is clear and beautiful, you don't need to add anything and invent anything: there are all CrossFit exercises.
The app is perfect as a workout diary: there are no various timers to help you along the way. But there will be no problems with recording the lessons.
3. CrossfitMe
Only WOD can be recorded in this app. There are several ready-made well-known complexes and the ability to add your own.
There is a stopwatch and timer for tabata, but there is not enough EMOM with a beep for each lap so you know when to start.
In the history you see only your result and the name of the complex, there is no list of exercises that you performed. To see this list, you have to log out of history and go to My Circles.

Why you should keep a paper diary
Copyright Today I invite you to talk … about paper. Lifehacker's editors often write that everything can be simplified, automated and converted into electronic / digital form. But according to my own observations, there is one area of life where it is much more effective and useful to use paper for notes, rather than a service for notes or an online editor.
