A new optical illusion that haunts Internet users.
Test yourself: look at the pictures of the cobbled road on which the car is driving. It seems that the author took two shots from different angles.
But in reality, the brain is deceiving you: these are two absolutely identical pictures. The evidence was provided by a Reddit user under the nickname Shroffinator. He labeled the images, superimposed them on top of each other and arranged one below the other. Here's the result:
The deception has its own explanation: it can be compared to the famous optical illusion of a cafe wall. For the first time this effect was discovered by the British psychologist, professor emeritus of neuropsychology at the University of Bristol Richard Gregory. Parallel lines on a mosaic wall in a cafe appear wavy.
This is because different types of neurons in the retina and visual cortex react differently to the perception of light and dark colors. Also, an optical illusion can be created due to the perspective that is in the photo.
