Many people think that office work is prestigious. Large IT companies support this idea in every possible way, offering favorable working conditions, stylish office spaces, various goodies like a gym and sleeping rooms. Employers want employees to literally live at work. But the golden cage still remains a cage, whatever one may say.

• I still have to get up at 7 in the morning and go to work absolutely broken and sleepy.
• Every day to get to the office through traffic jams, spending at least 40 minutes on the road. And this is the best case.
• Have a quick lunch, trying to make it before the end of the break.
• Staying late at work because the company needs to fulfill the plan.

At some point, I came to the conclusion that office slavery is not for me. I have been working full-time at home for three years now, and I have no desire to return to the office. This workflow has greatly improved my life for 5 reasons.

Reason one: I myself create a working atmosphere

Working remotely has made me much more productive. And all because I can work in the most comfortable conditions for myself. For example, I like to sit in a cafe and create in the company of coffee and music. Or I can stay at home if it rains outside the window and the wind knocks down. My job is not tied to a specific chair. There would be a laptop and a stable Internet, and everything else is convention.

Reason two: you can forget about the alarm

I am a night owl and I can’t do anything about it. Getting up at 7 am is a real punishment for me. Throughout their lives, owls are forced to adapt to the morning routine, which certainly does not make them happier. You walk like a zombie for half a day, and when you're ready to go, it's time to go home.

Owls have the following features.

• According to numerous tests, owls are creative and curious people.
• In the morning, owls are useless, but in the afternoon and evening, their productivity is maximum.
• With age, owls become more active, unlike larks. School years for them is a living hell, because they have to get up early and go to bed early. But when there is an opportunity to independently organize their work and rest, their effectiveness increases significantly.

Remote work allows owls like me to regulate their own working day. You can often see me at my laptop at 2 and 3 in the morning. I finish work late, and in the morning I sleep peacefully while the office plankton rush to work.

Reason three: no traffic jams

I no longer have to spend a lot of time commuting to and from work. According to statistics, Muscovites spend in traffic jams at least 165 hours per year … Think, almost 7 days of your life every year fly into the tube. So why are these sacrifices? I work quietly at home or in a cafe, which is a 15-minute walk away. By the way, this is also an opportunity to warm up a little, since you constantly have to sit at the computer, which is not good.

I don't have to survive on a crowded bus or subway every day, or burn gasoline in traffic jams. Remote work saves time and money, and this is its great advantage.

Reason four: I control myself and my time

Working remotely, I can control my own time. For example, in the first half of the day to do some of their daily affairs, and in the late afternoon to sit down to work. Thanks to this, I have time to go in for sports, photography and complete work tasks on time. No need to waste time traveling, no need to rush to stuff a sandwich into yourself to finish lunch before the end of the break.

I can't say that I know how to plan my day well, but I strive for it. And remote work helps with this.

Reason five: solid savings

Remote work is beneficial for both employees and employers. Working outside the office, I do not have to spend money on transport, meals, constant snacks with colleagues and dress code compliance - yes, working at home or in a cafe does not require a white collar and tie. At the same time, the employer does not need to spend money on the maintenance of jobs, all communication with employees takes place online.

Some fear that with such a system, everyone will scatter in all directions and will not be able to achieve a result. But this is not the case, as many successful startups that are staffed entirely by remote workers prove.

Of course, running away from the office scares many. Basically it is the fear of the unknown, because no one wants to lose their job. However, people now have one big advantage - mobility. A modern person is always in touch and ready to work almost anywhere in the world. In order to work, he does not have to be tied to a specific address, chair and computer. So why not take this opportunity? Go for it!
