Personal experience: I went to business training and did not get rich
Personal experience: I went to business training and did not get rich

This article is part of the Auto-da-fe project. In it, we declare war on everything that prevents people from living and becoming better: breaking laws, believing in nonsense, deceit and fraud. If you've come across a similar experience, share your stories in the comments.

You can make millions, wake up happy every day, and drive the latest BMW around town - these are the promises that most business training promises. There are more and more coaches willing to share the secrets of wealth. True, not everyone awaits mountains of gold after training. The life hacker talked to people who went in search of happiness, but ended up spending more than they earned. The heroes talked about what made them question the guru's honesty, how learning works from the inside, and why the chance of becoming the last bastard is much higher than becoming a millionaire.

"I was waiting for the step-by-step guide" How to build a business ""

I worked in a regional newspaper and went to business training, because the phrases “Build your own business”, “Do you want to work for your uncle all your life?”, “Your life is only in your hands”. I looked at the successful success of girls who sell ass pumping courses on Instagram, and I realized that there is nothing difficult in all this: I can do it too. True, for some reason it seemed to me that first you need to go through some kind of business training - it will help me understand where to start. A friend offered to sign up for "Concentrate 21.0." to Ayaz Shabutdinov, the founder of the Like group of companies, and I agreed. It was possible to watch the broadcast directly from Samara, where I live, but we wanted to learn everything firsthand, so we went to the training in Moscow.

Ayaz has long been said to be a businessman who makes money out of nothing. Allegedly, his parents are from the village, but he got out and got up. I thought that a guy with such a background could definitely help me, and I was waiting for the step-by-step guide "How to build a business" for idiots: I wanted to be told how to choose a niche and where to start. Considering that the three-day training cost only 500 rubles, it was extremely naive to count on the disclosure of universal secrets.

The event took place in the large, beautiful hall of the Russia - My History Museum at VDNKh. It all lasted three days, but half of Friday was enough for me to realize that this was some kind of bullshit. We sat down in the hall and started listening to Ayaz, but I quickly realized that he was voicing well-known motivational phrases from the category "A long way begins with a small step." We were even given bracelets with this inscription.

Everything continued with no less abstract expressions: "I could, and you can," "After six months of work, I bought a red Lamborghini." In parallel with this, strangers ran up to us, who invited us to their team. They called themselves team leaders and promised to include them in the networking process - to add to the chat where all business representatives sit. A little later it turned out that team leaders and business representatives were just participants in paid copyright programs, to which everything boiled down throughout the conference.

Between the motivating quotes of Ayaz himself, participants of his paid projects spoke, who said: “Wow, I started a cool business! To do this, you need to buy a course for 40,000 rubles. Then Ayaz appeared on the stage again and continued to tell how cool everything was with him.

Twice in the evening the song of the group "Hands Up!" - it seems, "My baby". We had to join hands and jump under it, because this is how the process of rallying and uniting happens. After the second such mini-concert, I took my friend's hand and left.

Disappointment came almost immediately. You come to a funky hall and get a beautiful handout, but instead of practical knowledge, you listen to completely uninformative things that boil down to selling your own products.

Business training often leads to disappointment rather than success

But there were also cool moments. In the distribution box, I found the "Diary of a Beginning Entrepreneur", where a diagram was given that helps to decide on further actions: for example, if you do not have a business yet, then first of all you need to choose a suitable niche. More advanced guys take a different path - they conduct marketing research and draw up business plans. However, I opened the diary only three times. On the second and third days, we did not return, because we realized that we were going to run again, collect money and try to sell our products.

It seems to me that if a person has entrepreneurial abilities, he will figure it out without business training. Perhaps they can help people who already know what they want and are developing in a specific direction. For me, as for a budding entrepreneur, the training turned out to be nonsense - I still did not understand where to start in order to start my own business. I see no reason to spend money and feed such business coaches.

The conference was attended by 10,000 people, each of whom gave 500 rubles - this is the basis of your information business.

I will definitely not go to Concentrate anymore, and I’m unlikely to go to another training. My friend later took the same course again and said that she liked it. Apparently, she got a taste of listening to motivational quotes. I never started a business. I am amuse myself with the hope that my time has not come yet: I have not yet decided what I want to do. True, the problem is more with me than with inappropriate business training.

I was made a man who looks down on everyone

Anna Chaikovskaya She took part in the "You are an entrepreneur" shift at the "iVolga" forum.

I studied in a specialty related to marketing, and one day I decided to go to the youth state forum "iVolga", where students present various projects and listen to lectures. Representatives of different shifts went to all institutes a few months before the start and told us what they would teach us. I immediately became interested in the You are an Entrepreneur program. At the age of 18, it seemed that I was already smart and cool enough, so it's time to take life into your own hands. In addition, the direction was presented by a very charismatic young man, so I had no doubts. I was sure that very soon I would become a business woman and I would cut crazy money.

The check-in lasted 10 days, 8 of which took training. We were visited by lecturers of a federal scale: Igor Mann, Bari Alibasov, Jr., as well as representatives of large companies. Top managers of Sberbank, for example, brought a million rubles and gave each of them to hold this money. True, the bills were cut by a shredder.

The lecturers tried to show in every way how cool they are, and periodically asserted themselves due to the fact that they were surrounded by inexperienced teenagers. For example, they asked questions to the audience, and when they heard the wrong answer, they were sure to poke their noses into it. One of the speakers asked what CRM is, I raised my hand and answered correctly, but he still said that we do not know anything, so now he will enlighten us. It’s unpleasant to remember this, but then I didn’t feel the catch.

Several times they made me understand that I was stupid, but I was not offended: it seemed that there were very cool and smart people nearby, so I couldn't compare with them.

Unfortunately, disappointment in what was happening did not come immediately. After the forum, I came home with the most inflated CHSV. It seemed that there was no one cooler than me in this world. For several months I was in this state until I realized that I was not all right. Contrary to expectations, I did not become someone special and enlightened, but became an outspoken bitch. They taught me little, but they made me a person who looks down on everyone.

The only benefit I got was meeting interesting guys. For some time after the forum they created my environment. This was my first experience of active communication with a large number of young people. I realized that even if I didn’t start my own business, in any case I should become more independent. Two weeks after the forum, I got my first job. Now I remember the shift with a negative, but still it turned out to be a kick into adulthood.

Overall, I think business training is complete shit. Adults have absolutely nothing to do there. You waste time, and in some cases money, and as a result, you only increase your HSP. I hate people who talk about their own coolness, but in fact, at best, have a business with a monthly profit of 20,000 rubles.

Real businessmen don't go to trainings. I talked with such people in the process of working in sales and found out that they can take courses in a narrow-profile direction, but they will definitely not attend training on creating their own business.

Everyone earns as much as they can, but I do not respect information businessmen. It is disgusting to cash in on stupid people and children who open their mouths and believe everything they are told. They already have no money, and the information Gypsies also take the last.

I never opened my own business, because as a student I lacked competencies: I still did not understand how to become a cool entrepreneur. Now I have no desire to have my own business - I do not want to risk financial security. I enjoy being in leadership positions but still being an employee. And to become better and more professional in the field of sales help own experience, specialized education and books.

If you want to receive more exclusive information and get hooked on the information needle

Gleb Leshchenko Passed dozens of business trainings on making money on the Internet.

I got carried away with business training in 2012 when I finished ninth grade. Mom recommended me a course from Azat Valeev, a popular Internet entrepreneur and millionaire. It was called "Breakthrough in Life" and cost 200 rubles. During the week, the author talked about why it is not necessary to work for large corporations, how to make money on the Internet, what freelance and information business are. I liked it, because at that time I received new knowledge and understood a little better how life works. Immediately after this training, I was offered a second one: it cost not 200, but 1,000 rubles. On this course, I was told a little more about what the sale of information is and how you can develop in this business.

After the ninth grade, I just had a free summer, so I began to study the information business market and eventually even started writing my own books and courses: on how to create your own blog on WordPress and gather subscribers on social networks. I understood this issue, because I myself blogged and promoted it. In addition, I have already completed several courses on this topic and watched dozens of videos on YouTube. It seemed to me that all this is very interesting, so I wanted to develop in this direction in the future.

I chose trainings based on cost, subject matter and duration. I bought practical courses on making money on the Internet, but on the way to study I listened to free lectures on personal development - I downloaded them to the player instead of music. When choosing a practical course, it was important for me that the person has decent indicators and guarantees that I will get a specific result: for example, I will earn a certain amount or prepare my blog.

Prices for trainings ranged from 1,000 to 300,000 rubles. I took the cheapest packages - from 1,000 to 10,000 rubles, because I had no money for more. In addition, it seems to me that choosing trainings for 60,000 rubles is strange and not entirely reasonable. It is better to spend this money on promoting your blogs or buy new equipment to improve your content. However, I know people who made such purchases, received results and were satisfied with the investment.

Business training is a danger of getting hooked on the information needle
Business training is a danger of getting hooked on the information needle

The money paid for the training could be taken back if the training did not suit you. True, first you have to prove that you did all your homework, otherwise nothing will work. In addition, after the trial, the author will 100% ban you. I never wanted to return the amount paid because I was satisfied with my purchases.

Online courses for making money contained quite understandable tasks: create a website or put down links. Nobody asked to go outside and shout that I can do anything, or to sell things from home. I pumped specific skills of promotion on the Web and immediately saw the result of my actions.

However, non-standard assignments sometimes came across in personal growth trainings that I listened to on the way to college. The notorious children were offered to wear a sombrero and bright clothes, and then walk along a crowded street in the city center. Such stressful situations were designed to help us understand that all problems are only in our head and others do not care about them.

I did not perform such tasks. I didn’t need it, because at that time I myself had already conducted webinars and master classes in schools, universities and various organizations. In addition, I had my own YouTube channel, so the practice of emancipation was quite enough.

The trainings that I went through influenced my worldview and showed that I need to develop, go only forward, set goals and achieve them. I realized that I wanted to go to the cinema and buy equipment with my own money, so I found a way to make money. Of course, millions did not appear in my pockets, but I had enough for gatherings in a cafe and small trinkets that are so necessary in adolescence.

However, since 2014, I began to take trainings much less often. The fact is that I posted a self-presentation on YouTube, in which for 8 minutes I told what I studied and how I developed. The video went viral and they made me an internet meme. People started laughing and saying that I was a high school student who talks about making money, but looks pretty bad at the same time: acne, terrible hair and modest results. It was a bell, thanks to which I first thought about how I look from the outside.

From that moment on, I began to approach the trainings more consciously and noticed that from course to course the same thoughts from the category “We need to set goals” are repeated. I realized that it was worth listening less and doing more.

On the courses, you only imagine how you open a business and earn millions, but in fact you just listen to business coaches and do not move anywhere.

In addition, trainings are like an endless cycle: after one you are offered a second, but it is even more expensive than the previous one. You want to receive more exclusive information and get hooked on the information needle. Going thoughtlessly to all trainings in a row is not a very good and even harmful business. If a person does not know how to turn on his head, then he can tighten it not weakly.

Be careful and pay attention to the teacher who is teaching the class. If this is Vasya Pupkin from a small provincial town that has not achieved anything, then it is better not to get involved in such training. Be aware of your choice of training and remember that most of the information can be found in the public domain on YouTube.

I never opened a business, but I still learned to make money on the Internet. I study directing, take a great interest in cinematography and develop my own blog "Just About Cinema": I shoot videos on YouTube and run Instagram, and also create documentaries about elderly people who suffered during the Great Patriotic War.

Now I take courses only if I am sure that I can apply this knowledge right now. And if I see a tempting title, but I understand that this information is not useful to me at the moment, I pass by and do not waste my time.

Any training exploits need. Usually people are drawn to them, being in a state of acute stress and anxiety. They are looking for something that or on whom they can rely, which will give them a sense of self-confidence, will allow them to be happy.

With manic tenacity, they research the websites of business coaches and follow their success stories, trying them on. In general, this state has its advantages: for someone, the desire to prove that “I can” becomes a powerful driving force in self-development and mastering new professional skills. However, there are some drawbacks: in such periods, critical thinking does not work well. People easily succumb to suggestion, accept all sorts of casuistry on faith.

In stress, a person regresses, that is, resorts to more immature, "childish" ways of behavior. Hence the belief in fairy tales about instant enrichment, the desire to be unique, not like everyone else: to touch the knowledge available only to “initiates” (the more secret the knowledge, the more expensive the training). The coach is seen as such an almighty father figure who can solve all problems for you and save you from defeat.

It is better to look for support in yourself in the office of a psychologist or, at least, from close people who are ready to provide you with support.
