How to draw a cartoon owl with colored markers or felt-tip pens
What is needed
- Paper;
- colored markers or felt-tip pens.
How to draw
Draw two large circles with a black felt-tip pen. Draw another shape inside them, but with a smaller diameter. These are the eyes in which the pupils must also be shown. From the outer circles, extend curved lines upward.
Draw a large arc to indicate the owl's head. From the tips of the curved segments, release downward along a vertical line. You will get triangles. Draw a wide checkmark between the shapes.
Draw a triangular beak. Show a rounded body. Repeat the outline of the shape inside the workpiece - this is the chest. Outline the wings adjacent to the body. Make a few strokes on the ends of the parts.
Draw the fingers in curved stripes. Mark the branch the bird is sitting on. On the body, outline several arcs - you get feathers.
Use a light brown felt-tip pen to paint over the owl's body and head. Make the eye circles and chest beige.
Use yellow for the beak and paws, and dark brown for the branch. The eyes in the example are green and the pupils are emerald.

How to draw a cartoon owl with paints
What is needed
- Paper;
- marker or pencil;
- gouache;
- bristly brush;
- a jar of water;
- palette.
How to draw
Use a marker or pencil to draw a large circle. This is the body of an owl. Inside the workpiece, make two more shapes, but smaller - this is how you define the eyes. The beak is an inverted blob.
Draw the pupils with highlights. Draw a wide check mark above the eyes, the tips of which extend beyond the outline of the drawing. Ear tufts will turn out. Add small wings. The paws are like inverted tulip buds. Use the lines to show the trunk of the tree and the branch on which the owl is sitting.
Paint over the top of the sheet with black gouache. Without rinsing your brush, scoop up some blue or blue paint and cover the blank areas of the background. Blend the transitions between shades.
Make the trunk and branch brown. Add broad black strokes to these details. Paint over the owl. Try to stay out of your eyes, nose, and paws.
On a palette, mix white gouache with a little yellow paint. Make strokes on the body and wings of the bird - this will show the feathers. Use a bright yellow shade for the eyes and paws.
Accentuate the outline of the eyes with orange gouache, and place white strokes inside the details. Cover the nose and pupils with black. Draw a curved check mark on the forehead and add branches to it.
Make yellow strokes on the ear tufts and the crown of the owl, white on the body. Add highlights on the nose and pupils. This will liven up the drawing a bit. Take on the brush first blue paint and then white. Use strokes to show the leaves on the tree.
Put lots of dots in the background if you want to depict the stars. Mix white gouache with a drop of brown. Apply a few strokes to the trunk and branch.

How to draw a cartoon owl with colored pencils
What is needed
- Paper;
- simple pencil;
- liner (optional);
- eraser;
- colour pencils.
How to draw
Draw two circles with a simple pencil. These are the eyes of an owl. In the center of the details, draw the shaded pupils, near the outlines - two empty oval highlights.
Outline the beak that resembles an inverted blob. From the top of the figure, release two dashed lines at an angle upward. At the tips, place in a triangle without a base. Ear tufts will turn out.
Add a bulging crown. Show the borders of the head with arcs. Draw the rounded body of the bird. On the sides there are wings.
Under the torso, sketch six curved strokes for the owl's fingers. Sketch out a branch consisting of two lines. Trace the drawing with a black pencil or liner.
Erase the auxiliary sketch with an eraser. Add a large beige spot on the chest and two more similar spots next to the eyes. Draw the outline of an inverted triangle on the head.
Use a dark brown pencil to paint over the wings, ear tufts, fingers and a branch. Use a light brown shade on the crown, body and sides of the head. Make the irises and beak of the owl orange.

An adorable owl drawn with a simple pencil:
How to draw a cartoon owl with a black marker or felt-tip pen
What is needed
- Paper;
- black marker or felt-tip pen.
How to draw
Draw two large, round eyes. Draw the oval pupils inside, which will need to be painted over, leaving a glare in them. Draw the beak - it is an inverted blob.
Show the top of the head in an arc. Outline the triangular ear tufts. To indicate the feathers, make some slant strokes.
On the right, draw an oval wing with feathers protruding from the bottom. Mark a wavy pattern inside the workpiece. The second wing (on the right) is partially visible - the shape of the detail resembles a crescent moon with a split tip.
Draw the owl's claws - these are oblique ovals. Draw a branch consisting of two broken lines. Show a triangular tail. Use waves to mark the feathers on the chest.

How to draw a realistic owl with a simple pencil
What is needed
- Paper;
- simple pencil;
- eraser.
How to draw
Draw a circle to indicate the head. Inside the workpiece, place two curved, crossed lines: horizontal and vertical.
Draw another circle below, but larger. This is the chest of an owl. At the bottom, add an elongated arc to the part - the body. Draw lines to outline the neck.
Draw short lines to show a paw with three toes. Draw a slanted U-shaped tail.
Draw almond-shaped eyes. Place dark, rounded pupils and empty highlights inside the details. Shade the irises without pressing hard on the pencil.
From the eyes, release two dashed lines downward, tapering downward. Draw a triangular, curved beak. Make a series of short strokes to indicate the heart-shaped facial disc.
Detail the paw. To do this, two more are drawn on the sides of the auxiliary line. Give your fingers a curved shape. At the tip of each, draw a small triangular claw.
The second leg is not fully visible - show the outline of the part behind the first. Sketch the wing. It looks like an oblique oval, tapering downward. Make the tail a little shorter. Use lines to mark the feathers.
Shape your breasts. Draw an arc under the tail, inside - short segments. Erase the construction lines with an eraser.
Darken the chest, legs, under the wing and around the eyes. Add light shading to the neck and around the outlines of the facial disc. Brighten the borders between the feathers.
Show the shadow under the bird. So it will not seem that the owl is hovering in the air. Without pressing hard on the pencil, paint over the wing. Leave small oblong spots on it and on the neck. Circle the face disc.

Fascinating master class:
How to draw a realistic owl with paints
What is needed
- Paper;
- simple pencil;
- medium brush;
- watercolor;
- a jar of water;
- thin brush.
How to draw
Draw a broken line with an uneven outline - this is the trunk. Draw a branch. Draw an inverted blob to indicate the owl's body and tail. Sketch out the head, resembling a trapezoid with rounded corners. Place the face disc inside the part. Show the wing on the left. Try not to press too hard on the pencil, otherwise the sketch will be visible even under the paint.
Owl's claws are curved triangles. Small arcs are located above the figures. Show massive round eyes. Draw a series of strokes next to the blanks. The beak is shaped like an oval with pointed tips. Add another branch to the trunk.
Using a medium brush, paint over the face disc and body of the bird with beige watercolor. Make light brown strokes around the outlines of the belly and chest. Mark the feathers with strokes.
Cover the tail, head and wing with dark brown paint. The last one should have small gaps. Trace the eyes, release a few curved lines from them, and then lightly blur.
Add some more brown strokes to the bird's chest, wing and tail. This will make the drawing richer. Make the eyes black. Paint over the branch, being careful not to climb onto the claws.
Dampen the background with water, and then cover it with blue, purple and dark blue spots. When the paper is dry, take a thin brush. Draw a shadow on the trunk. Draw the black branches and claws of the owl.
Use green strokes to mark the needles on the branch. On the face disc and head, sketch many thin black lines. Place the dark brown strokes on the chest, wing and neck. This will show you the texture of the plumage. Make white highlights in the eyes.
