Microsoft, despite having its own mobile operating system, continues to successfully develop applications for Android. We've already told you about the Garage project, in which Microsoft programmers are trying to improve a competing platform. And today we want to introduce you to a completely new product - the Arrow Launcher home screen.
Arrow Launcher is currently in beta, so you will need to join a special to download it. Anyone with a Google+ account can do this for free. The second option is to download the program from the official website, the link to which you will find at the end of the article.
After installing and launching the program, we will be shown a small training course, after which we can start to deal with the device of this launcher. The Arrow Launcher home screen contains three desktops, moving between which you can swipe left and right.
The main desktop is called Apps and shows us shortcuts to apps. They are divided into two sections: Recent contains recently used programs, and Frequent contains the most popular. The content of these sections is formed automatically based on the analysis of your actions; you cannot manually drag icons or create folders.
All other programs can be found in the list of applications, which is organized according to the alphabet and has a search bar. You can get into it using a special icon on the quick access panel. The same panel contains icons for launching the dialer, text messaging program, camera and browser. And if you pull the bottom dock up, it will expand to half the screen and another stack for your favorite programs will appear in front of us, as well as icons for favorite contacts. Very comfortably.
The left People desktop is used to display contacts. It works in the same way as the Apps screen, that is, it contains a section of recently used and most popular contacts. You can contact any of them or send a message literally in one touch. If necessary, you can view the detailed details of the recording or call a standard dialer.
The right desktop is a simple list with the ability to assign notifications. You can add new items to it, set a reminder time, mark items as priority or completed. Great tool for creating to-do list, shopping, reminders, alarms and so on.
The Arrow Launcher settings do not yet contain any interesting options, except for the ability to change the wallpaper (including automatic). But let's not forget that this is only a beta version, which is exposed for testing, so in the future, I hope, the developers will provide users with tools for more detailed customization of the appearance and behavior of this launcher.
