Everything You Wanted to Know About Apple Music

At WWDC 2015, Apple unveiled its new Apple Music service, which will launch later this month. According to Jimmy Iovine, Apple Music is "one answer to all music questions." A place where all the music of the world will gather.

Jimmy Iovine and Eddie Cue described Apple Music as:

  1. new revolutionary service,
  2. a radio station operating 24 hours 7 days a week,
  3. connection between artists and fans.

A special application has been developed for Apple Music, in which users will find all their favorite songs, discover new artists and musical directions. And for this they will only need to follow the recommendations of the new service.

The My Music tab will display not only the music that you managed to purchase from the iTunes Store or transferred from CDs, but also tens of millions of tracks that Apple's music library has. There are 26 million songs in the iTunes Store so far.

Siri voice assistant will also help you find interesting new songs. For example, you can ask him what song was at the top of the charts in June 2011, and he will immediately give you the correct answer and offer you to play the hit of that time.

The service will be launched on June 30 in 100 countries of the world. According to preliminary data, this list also includes Russia. Apple Music will also be released for Apple TV and Android, but not this summer, but this fall.

Free features

Some features will be free for all US users with an Apple ID. The lucky ones will be able to listen to Beats 1 radio stations, as well as Apple Music, with a limit of six tracks per hour. These features will be paid for Android users as they are required to be Apple Music subscribers.

Music

At the very beginning of using Apple Music, you will be prompted to choose your favorite artists and directions. Based on this information and your purchase history, Apple will guide you through the For you tab. And by the way, the Apple company hired a number of talented music experts from all over the world to compile them. Some of the playlists have been created by teams from respected publications and music services such as Rolling Stone, Q Magazine, Pitchfork, DJ Mag, Shazam, and MOJO.

Your playlist will not constantly display music of the same genre, it will be a mixture of new compositions and favorite tracks. You can create your own station by selecting your favorite song, album or artist. Gradually, Apple Music will begin to better understand your taste preferences and help make your station even more personalized.

Apple Music will play tracks at 256 kbps, unlike Beats Music, Spotify (320 kbps), and Tidal's streaming service, which offer uncompressed and lossless music for an additional $ 10. But it is worth noting that AAC tracks with a bitrate of 256 kbps are better in sound quality than MP3 records with a bitrate of 320 kbps. Plus, Apple's files are lighter, which is a big plus for streaming radio.

Connecting with artists

Connect

Another great thing about Apple Music is the connection between artists and fans. World renowned artists or newcomers to the music industry will be able to leave messages, share behind-the-scenes footage, swap music, or upload new tracks and videos.

Fans, in turn, will be able to reply to these messages, criticize artists or share their posts on their page in the Connect tab. In general, complete freedom of creativity and self-expression for both parties: creators and listeners.
