You have already realized that proper nutrition is the key to well-being. But how not to drown in a sea of healthy lifestyle advice? Have you heard about ""? This book will help you start eating healthy.
What is this book about
Probably everyone wants to eat better. After all, nutrition is one of the main factors affecting well-being today and in the future. Even avid lovers of spicy wings and hamburgers regularly think about how to improve their diet: someone because of excess weight, someone because of stomach problems, and someone - after learning about a new effective diet.
However, it is not easy to understand what is useful and what is not. Everyone can give advice in the field of nutrition: friends, parents, colleagues, doctors, resources on the Internet … And they often contradict each other.
In turn, the "China Study in Practice" is not anecdotal evidence of the benefits of a particular product or new nutritional supplement. This book can be considered a textbook that consistently answers the questions:
- Could plants be an even better source of protein than meat?
- Plants are high in carbohydrates, but is it really that bad?
- Are all plant foods rich in valuable fiber?
- Is it really necessary to drink milk and eat red meat to get the necessary amount of calcium and iron?
- Are there enough vitamins in plant foods?
- Is dairy a good substitute for meat in a vegetarian diet?
- Should you completely eliminate animal products from your diet?
- Should you avoid sugar and fat?
- How much fish should you eat to get enough omega-3 fatty acids?
- Dangers of gluten - reality or fashion myth?
- Should you be afraid of pesticides, herbicides and GMOs?
- What vitamins are necessary to take, and which ones are absolutely useless?
- How to develop healthy eating habits in children?
The answers are backed up by a wealth of scientific data, as well as visual tables comparing the value of various products.
The author proposes a healthy eating concept based on the exclusion of most common foods.
For a successful transition to a new way of eating (not a temporary diet, but a fundamental change in eating habits), the book contains shopping lists, a sample menu and recipes for the first time.
Who will benefit from the book
- For those who are ready to radically change their lives … Let's say you finally decided to give up your usual foods in favor of plant foods. How do you prepare regular meals now? How to replace eggs, butter, milk, meat? Answers to these questions can be found in the third part of the book "China Research in Practice".
- For those who have been thinking about becoming a vegetarian for a long time … Here you will find additional motivation and helpful tips on how to get everything your body needs with plant foods.
- For those who feel that something needs to be changed in their diet, but do not know where to start … Even if you don’t take Campbell’s plan in its entirety, after reading the book, you’ll probably be more deliberate about your grocery choices in the store.
Just imagine that after a while your tastes have changed, you have a selection of excellent dishes that you adore, and habits have formed, thanks to which you no longer have to rely on willpower alone. Relatives and acquaintances do not mind and support you. Your choice does not cause you any inconvenience, and, probably, your health has recovered.
About format
The book is large, and there is a lot of data in it. There are also a lot of emotions - the author really wants to set the reader on the right path. But for the lazy, and at the same time for those who have their own opinion about nutrition, there are clearly formulated conclusions.
I belong to both types, but I still found something new for myself. I think that I will still return to individual chapters and recipes.
Whether to read the book
Why not? Perhaps not entirely, but separate chapters or diagonally. At the very least, everyone who believes that healthy does not mean tasty is worth trying the recipes.
