Streamkeys for Chrome lets you control YouTube and other services with media keys

With this extension, listening to music in the background will become much more comfortable.

It is very convenient to launch your favorite tracks in various media services in the browser. No need to fiddle with organizing an audio collection and copy terabytes of music to your disk: just open YouTube, Deezer or Yandex. Music and start playback.

But streaming services have one drawback: unlike desktop players, they cannot be controlled from the keyboard when minimized. If you want to pause music or play the next track, you have to get distracted and go to the music tab. This is not very convenient.

Fortunately, Google Chrome users have a solution - a miniature Streamkeys extension. Once installed, you can steer your favorite streaming service using the media keys - those found on the top row of the keyboard. You can pause the song, continue playback, switch to the next or previous track. Plus, there is a built-in ability to adjust the system volume from the keyboard.

The extension has quite a few settings. You can change the default keybindings and prioritize each site if you have multiple music services open. Streamkeys supports over 80 sites, including YouTube, Deezer, Yandex. Music, Spotify, and SoundCloud.
