How to find big apps and free up space on Mac quickly

Most of us have a lot of large applications installed that are never used and just take up disk space. Lifehacker explains how easy it is to find and remove them.

We don't need any expensive third-party utilities. Everything you need is already in macOS itself. Apple added such a useful feature in one of the latest macOS Sierra updates. And it is very simple to use it.

1. Choose Apple menu → About This Mac.

2. Switch to the "Storage" tab and click the "Manage" button.

3. In the window that opens, select "Applications" in the sidebar and enable sorting by size.

4. Find unnecessary applications, hover over the name and click the cross.

5. Confirm the deletion.

In this wonderful way, you can detect and remove both applications from the Mac App Store and those installed from other sources. It doesn't matter if they will be stored in the Applications folder or anywhere else on the disk.
