How to Build Your Travel Guide Using Google Trips

First, create a travel card. To do this, find your destination city using the built-in search and click Create trip. In the next menu, add intermediate settlements or confirm an already selected one. After that, the program will display the new tour card in the Your trips section.

Now navigate through the landmarks. By clicking on the created card, you will see blocks of information about the added cities. In the Things to do block, mark the places of interest with stars - they will appear in the Saved places block. In the latter, you can combine the marked places into one tourist route. To do this, click on the map icon in the upper right corner, and in the next menu, tap on the round button.

The program will tell you the best travel plan for selected places, if you specify the time frame and day of the week in the process of planning the route. When you're done, don't forget to click on the floppy disk icon to save the route. And to make it available without connecting to the Network, like all background information about the added cities, open the travel card and click Download near each locality.

2. Redigo

Redigo has fewer cities and attractions than Google Trips. But all the data is available in Russian. You can make lists of points of interest, read about places of interest and see their location on a map.

How to compose your travel guide with Redigo

To get started, download the profiles of the countries and cities you are interested in. Find the country in the general directory and click "About country" inside its profile. After that, you will see lists of photos, points of interest and reference data for the selected country. You can also click on the names of major cities to download and their profiles.

Then make a list of the places you want to visit. To do this, open the profiles of loaded countries and cities and mark the desired cafes, museums, monuments and the like with an asterisk.

To be able to see saved places without the Internet, download a map for each city. It is enough to click "Offline map" inside the city profile.

3.2GIS

"2GIS" contains the most detailed information in Russian, but mainly - about the cities of Russia. So the application is more suitable for travelers in the Russian Federation. Although the program also includes Kiev, Odessa and other large cities of the near and far abroad. 2GIS allows you to make lists of points of interest and helps you search for them.

How to compose your own travel guide using 2GIS

First of all, download the information about the destination city: open the application menu, click "List of cities", find the desired one and click on it. As a result, the name of the new city will be displayed at the top under the heading "My cities".

Next, make a list of attractions that interest you. To do this, first select the target city in the My Cities list. Then open the menu again, select "Places of interest" and mark the ones you want with hearts. The attractions you are interested in will appear in the menu item under the name "Favorites".

2GIS also has a web version, with the help of which you can compose a travel guide on your computer, and then synchronize the data with the application on your mobile device.
