Turn a plastic bottle, photo frame, or pine cone into a stylish piece of furniture.
How to make a candlestick from a jar with your own hands
What do you need
- Bank with a volume of 0.5 liters;
- white acrylic paint;
- blue acrylic paint;
- spruce twig or other decorative element;
- rope;
- stencil ‑ sticker;
- white sequins;
- container for paint;
- sponge;
- scissors;
- tea candle.
How to do
Stick a stencil on the jar. Make sure that its edges fit snugly against the glass, otherwise paint will flow under them.
Pour white paint into a container. Dip a sponge in it and paint the jar with tapping movements. This method gives texture - the coating will resemble frost. Let it dry and apply another coat of paint if necessary.
Add some blue paint to the white, so that you get a blue color.
With a tapping motion, cover the top of the jar with light blue, making a smooth transition to white in the middle of the container. Sprinkle some glitter on wet paint and leave to dry completely.
Carefully, being careful not to scratch the coating, peel off the stencil.
Tie a string bow at the neck and decorate with a spruce twig.
It is convenient to fix candles in candlestick jars with double-sided tape.
The video shows in detail the entire decorating process in two versions:

How to make a candlestick from a plastic bottle with your own hands
What do you need
- Plastic bottle with a volume of 2 liters;
- beads;
- three types of ribbons or braid;
- gold paint - spray;
- a decorative element, such as a snowflake;
- oilcloth or bedding on the table;
- glue gun or glue;
- scissors;
- breadboard knife;
- long candle.
How to do
Use a dummy knife to cut about 10 cm from the top of the bottle.
Align the cut with scissors so that there are no burrs on the future candlestick and it stands exactly on the horizontal.
Cover the table with oilcloth so as not to spoil the surface. Cover the top of the bottle with gold paint on the outside. Keep the can at least 30 cm away to create an even layer without drips.
Glue the bottom edge of the candlestick with beads and let the glue dry well.
Cover the neck of the bottle with tape or tape.
From other ribbons, tie two bows.
Cut the edges of the ribbons into V-cuts. This will decorate them, and if the ribbons are fabric, then thanks to this processing, threads will not fall out of them.
Stick one bow on top of the other.
Attach a snowflake or other decorative detail, such as a cute button, to the center.
Stick the decorated bow on the neck of the bottle and insert the candle.

How to make candlesticks from cones with your own hands
What do you need
- Two large pine cones;
- two tea candles;
- sequins;
- nippers;
- glue.
How to do
Use nippers to cut off the top of each bud so that you can place a tealight on top of it.
Cover the end of each scale with glue.
Sprinkle the glitter on the buds so that they mostly hit the tips with the glue. If it dries too quickly, then you can divide the work into several stages: first decorate the bottom, then the middle and at the end - the top of the cone.
Place a candle on each bump. If the candle is loose, glue it on.
Step-by-step instructions on how to make a candlestick from a pine cone are contained in this video:

How to make a candlestick out of wood with your own hands
What do you need
- Pen drill with a diameter of 35 mm;
- vice;
- a cylindrical log with a diameter of about 10 cm;
- wood varnish;
- wide brush;
- tea candle.
How to do
Prepare a log. It should be clean and stable, free from chipping. If the ends are uneven, sand them.
With a first drill, make a hole in the end a little more deep than the thickness of the candle.
Remove wood dust from the log and varnish. Let dry.
Install a candle in the hole.

How to make a clay candlestick with your own hands
What do you need
- Clay for crafts;
- rolling pin;
- stack or stick;
- round cookie cutter with a diameter of 4 cm or more;
- sandpaper;
- acrylic paint;
- acrylic lacquer;
- two brushes.
How to do
Roll out the clay into a layer 2-3 mm thick. It is convenient to do this on baking paper so that the workpiece does not stick to the table.
Using a cookie cutter, cut 22 circles from the clay layer. The remnants can be rolled out again and again made into circles.
Break one circle with your fingers to make it thinner and wider. A tea candle should easily fit on it. This will be the base of the candlestick, other elements are attached to it.
Take the second circle and stretch it a little, giving it an oval shape.
Fold the edges slightly towards the center on one side of the oval.
Stick the oval to the base and give it the shape of a petal: the part with the curved ends looks up, and the part connected to the base lies on the plane of the table.
Thus, make five petals of the lower tier. You should get a vase like this:
Form a sixth petal and attach it over the junction of the bottom two.
Also make four more petals - they will make the second tier.
Similarly to the first two, make two more tiers. On each following, the petals overlap more and more.
Using a stack or any pointed object, slightly loosen the clay in the center of the upper tier and on the last remaining circle so that the base of the candle lies flat.
Place the last circle in the center of the candlestick with the loosened layer down and press down so that it is flush with the petals.
If you have clay that requires firing, place it in the oven according to the instructions on the package. If the material hardens in air, then let the candlestick dry completely.
Sand the edges of the craft with sandpaper and carefully shake off the sawdust so that it does not interfere with the staining. You can walk over the candlestick with a soft dry napkin.
Paint over every detail from all sides. You can apply the color evenly or let the natural shade of the clay show through on the tips of the petals.
When the paint is completely dry, cover the candlestick with varnish, let it harden and put a candle in it.

How to make a candlestick from photo frames with your own hands
What do you need
- Three glazed frames measuring 10 × 15 cm;
- gold paint;
- glue or glue gun;
- a sheet of thin cardboard;
- pencil;
- scissors;
- paper or oilcloth;
- seashells or other decorative items;
- tea or LED candle.
How to do
Take out the glass and lay out the empty frames on paper or oilcloth.
Cover the front with gold paint. Let dry.
Apply glue to each corner of the frame on the back and glue the glass. Repeat with the other two designs.
Apply glue to the long frame pieces on the back.
Fasten these long slats together to form a triangular shape. If you are unsure of the glue's durability, or if it is too runny, you can glue tape or paper tape into the corners of the frames to hold them together.
When the glue is completely dry, trace the base of the resulting shape on the cardboard and cut out. This is the bottom of the candlestick.
Attach the cardboard piece to the timber frame and flip over.
When the glue is dry, decorate the inside of the candlestick with shells or other decor. If for decoration you use elements that can easily catch fire, such as dried flowers, then instead of a real candle, take an LED one.
