Step one. Teach this to your child

Take a piece of paper and write on top what you want to learn. Write everything you know about the subject, but as if you plan to teach this to a child, a simple eight-year-old.

Many adults tend to use confusing words and jargon to hide knowledge gaps. This is how we lead ourselves by the nose. And we mislead others.

Write the idea down from start to finish in language your child can understand. In this way, you can and even force yourself to delve deeper into the subject under study and simplify the connections between ideas. You can understand difficult moments on a different level.

Step two. Repeat past

The first step will reveal gaps in knowledge: missing items, incomprehensible terms, confusing explanations. You have reached the limits of your own knowledge. This is a good sign. Competence is understanding the limits of one's capabilities.

This is where learning begins. You understand at what point you are stuck. Go back to the original material and repeat until you can explain the problem in basic terms.

Determining the boundaries of knowledge eliminates possible mistakes and increases the chances of success in applying knowledge.

Step three. Organize and simplify

Now you have a whole synopsis in your hands. Make sure you don't slip into slang or complicated terms anywhere. Don't over complicate the structure. It is advisable to use theses.

Read the notes aloud. If the explanations are not too simple or sound convincing, you need to work on your understanding in this area. You can go back to the first point and delve into a difficult place.

Step four. Pass information

To finally be convinced of your own knowledge, check it on someone else. For example, on the same eight-year-old child. When you have thoroughly studied the issue, it will not be difficult for you to transfer knowledge to another person. Did the eight-year-old understand everything? Congratulations, you have mastered the topic.
