The app looks like the original one, but it has a ton of additional features.
For some reason, Google has yet to provide a dark theme for the YouTube Android client. The latter is officially available only in the iOS app and the desktop version of the service. But night mode and many other features are available in the alternative YouTube Vanced client.
The app has the same interface as the original YouTube. But if you look into the settings, you can find many additional functions. The dark theme is available in the General section. Go into it, activate the "Night mode" switch, and the colors of the interface are immediately inverted.
YouTube Vanced allows you to play videos even when your phone is locked. The function "Background Mode", which is located on the main settings screen, is responsible for this. More detailed parameters can be found on the Vanced Settings tab. For example, the preferred quality when using Wi-Fi or mobile internet. A nice bonus is that there are no ads in the application.
To install the client, you need to download the APK file, which is available for devices with and without Root rights. To log into your account and receive recommendations, you will also have to install the MicroG application. All of this is available on the YouTube Vanced website. It is advisable to download the latest versions marked All in the Architecture column.
