Granola is a mixture of oatmeal with nuts and honey, baked until crisp. And today we offer you five delicious homemade options for making it!
Recipe number 1
Ingredients:
- 2 ½ cups regular oatmeal (not instant);
- 1 cup almonds
- 1/3 cup sugar syrup or honey
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract or a pinch of vanillin
- 1/8 teaspoon almond extract (optional)
- 2/3 cup dried cherries (cranberries, strawberries)
- 1/2 cup chopped chocolate
Cooking. Preheat the oven to 160 degrees Celsius and prepare a baking sheet with baking paper.
In a small saucepan, combine syrup or honey, sugar, salt and vegetable oil. Put the saucepan on low heat and stir thoroughly until the sugar is completely dissolved. Then remove from heat and add vanillin or vanilla extract.
Place 1/2 cup of oatmeal in a food processor and grind it into flour. Add along with the remaining flakes, almonds and dried fruits to the saucepan with the sugar mixture. Wet your hands with water and mix everything well.
Place on a baking sheet, lightly press down with your hands and bake for 25-30 minutes. Break the finished granola into pieces and cool. Such a homemade breakfast is kept in an airtight container for about two weeks.
Recipe number 2
Ingredients:
- 2 cups oatmeal
- 1 1/2 cups almond chunks
- 1/4 cup sugar-free cocoa powder
- 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon of instant coffee;
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract or vanillin
- 1 ¼ cup unsweetened coconut
- 3/4 cup chocolate chips
Cooking. Preheat the oven to 160 degrees and prepare a baking sheet lined with baking paper. In a bowl, combine oatmeal, almonds, cocoa, cinnamon, coffee, salt and vanilla extract (or vanillin) and pour the honey over the top. Mix everything well again and spread on a baking sheet in a thin layer.
Send to the oven and bake for 10 minutes. Then mix everything again with a spatula and bake for another 10 minutes. Add coconut flakes there and send it back to the oven for just a minute, as the coconut flakes burn very quickly.
Break the finished granola into pieces, cool and add chocolate chips. Store in a refrigerator in an airtight container.
Recipe number 3
Ingredients:
- 4 cups plain oatmeal (not instant)
- 1 cup almond chunks
- 1/2 cup coconut flakes
- 1/4 cup pumpkin or sunflower seeds
- 1/2 cup sugar syrup, agave syrup, or honey
- 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil;
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup dried fruits (cherries, cranberries, raisins, strawberries)
Cooking. Preheat the oven to 160 degrees and prepare a baking sheet lined with baking paper. In a separate bowl, combine dry ingredients, except berries, and add honey or syrup.
Mix everything well again, spread it in an even layer on a baking sheet and send it to the oven for 25-30 minutes. Break the finished granola into pieces, add dry berries and mix everything well again.
Recipe number 4
Ingredients:
- 4 cups plain oatmeal (not instant)
- 1 cup almond flakes
- 1 cup almonds
- 1/2 cup coconut flakes
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3 tablespoons of butter;
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/2 cup brown or plain sugar
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract or a pinch of vanillin.
Cooking. Preheat the oven to 160 degrees and prepare the baking tray.
Combine oatmeal, almond flakes and almonds, salt, cinnamon, and coconut in a bowl. In a separate saucepan, melt the butter, oil, honey and sugar together. When the sugar is completely dissolved and the mixture begins to boil, remove the pan from the heat and mix everything thoroughly again.
Pour the warm mixture into a bowl with dry ingredients and mix thoroughly. Spread on a baking sheet in an even layer and send to bake for 25-30 minutes. During this time, you will need to mix the granola several times.
Remove the finished granola from the oven, mix again and cool. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
This homemade granola goes well with milk, yogurt or as an ice cream topping.
Enjoy your meal!
