Completion and appearance

The watch comes with only the most necessary things, namely magnetic charging and operating instructions. Put them aside and take a closer look at the gadget itself.

Stratos 3 really wants to be called a men's watch: massive and wide, it exists in a single black color that will never question your masculinity. At the same time, the model looks restrained and neat - with such a watch it is not a shame to go either to a training session or to a work meeting. The accessory is complemented by a black silicone strap. The gadget weighs only 60 grams.

Externally, the device is very similar to its predecessor Stratos 2, except that the new model has a flatter screen and no extra massive button on the side.

The watch received a display of 1.34 inches with a resolution of 320 × 320 pixels. It is protected from fingerprints and scratches by Corning Gorilla 3 glass. In general, the screen does not look soiled and resists all external influences. The watch is waterproof and can be left on in the shower or swimming pool. According to the manufacturer, the gadget can withstand immersion to a depth of 50 meters.

There are four buttons on the side. They will come in handy if you want to control your gadget without using a sensor (for example, in water). The top key is responsible for starting and selecting a mode, the bottom one for returning back, and in the middle there are buttons for switching between screens and adjusting the volume.

On the back of the watch is a charging port and a heart rate sensor.

The watch fits comfortably on the wrist. The strap is easy to remove and put on, and you can buy a ton of it on Aliexpress.

Screen

The model received a translucent transflective display that reflects incident rays. The screen is quite contrasting, but the brightness margin, in our opinion, is small: it does not hit the eyes, but in the sun it may suddenly seem too dim. The watch wakes up automatically when you raise your hand to check the time.

The gadget supports Russian. The translation is quite tolerable, but not without minor errors: the watch does not correctly transfer words, sometimes they write lowercase letters instead of uppercase ones. It won't be difficult to figure out the settings, but the feeling that Google Translate is talking to you does not leave.

Main functions

Even when your watch is so smart that it could take the Nobel Prize in physics, its main and main task is to show the time. Here, the Stratos 3 is all right: you can choose a convenient display from several dials, preferring a more classic or sporty one. The choice of dials, by the way, is quite poor: there are only nine of them.

You can set an alarm on the watch, there is also a timer, stopwatch, barometer and compass. Stratos 3 also determines the weather. The display shows notifications in chats and the text of messages - you will be able to read them, but no answer.

You can download music directly to your watch and listen to it without a smartphone via Bluetooth headphones. Almost 2 GB of storage is available for download.

The model has a “Find Smartphone” function: if you activate it, the connected device will emit a loud sound. Think three times before turning it on: mute the sound from the smartphone by simply unlocking it will not come out and the phone will beep until you enter the Amazfit app.

Sports functions

If before that Stratos 3 seemed like just a pleasant watch, now the fun begins: they already have 19 (!) Sports modes. You can track your progress in running, swimming in the pool and outdoors, triathlon, mountaineering, hiking, skiing, soccer, and even jumping rope. In all cases, the watch will fix the target, save the results and monitor your heart rate.

The gadget also remembers the number of calories burned, reports how intense the workout was and how long it will take to recover. The watch carefully measures your heart rate, issues warnings if it changes too quickly, and calculates the interval between heart beats.

Stratos 3 captures the amount and quality of sleep with visual graphs. If you sit for too long, the gadget will remind you to warm up.

If one sport mode is running, you will not be able to turn on the other. This kind of single-tasking makes me mad.

Mobile app

The most convenient way to follow the results is using the Amazfit Watch app - it is available for iOS and Android

In the app, you can view your workout data and share it with your friends. It also allows you to track the route while walking, running or cycling, set a goal for a certain number of steps taken, or analyze your sleep. In general, everything is the same as on the watch, only on the big screen.

Autonomy

The gadget received a 300 mAh battery, which is quite a lot. It will take about 2.5 hours to fully recharge from scratch.

The watch has several modes. Intellectually, they will work without recharging for seven days. In addition, there is an ultra-autonomy mode that reduces the number of functions to a minimum, and sports modes to 11, but the Stratos 3 will not need to be recharged for 14 days. In general, it is assumed that the smart-mode will be used only for sports, but in everyday life it is much more convenient and interesting: animation appears, additional settings - the eye rejoices.

There are also three GPS tracking modes. With constant data measurement and continuous operation, the Stratos 3 will not need to recharge for 35 hours. In balanced mode, the gadget works 45 hours, and in economical mode, where data is measured from time to time, 70 hours.

And a little about what is not there: NFC does not work in Russia, there is no speaker for receiving calls and a microphone.

What is the bottom line

Officially, Stratos 3 has not yet gone on sale in Russia and, according to the manufacturer, will not appear until mid-January. But on Aliexpress you can already order the global version for 14-15 thousand rubles.

Nineteen sport modes aim to please everyone at once, but if you don't sleep in a rocking chair, you are unlikely to use each one, switching maniacally between swimming and jumping rope. On the other hand, it’s great when a gadget can accurately measure energy consumption during your favorite sport, and not abstract “activity”, and this is a big plus of a wide range of modes that allows you to choose the one you want.

Sports functions aside, this is just a very good stylish watch that holds a charge well, shows the time flawlessly and allows you to listen to music without connecting to a smartphone. And they are incredibly desirable to buy, but whether they are worth the money if you do not use the fitness functions is a big question.

So consider the Stratos 3 if you really love sports. Or love the idea that one day you will do it and then you will definitely let in your life both running, and a jump rope, and measuring your pulse every minute - in this case, you cannot think of a more profitable acquisition.
