If you want to build effective collaboration between your employees, or just want to organize your personal affairs, give MeisterTask a try. This cloud service offers everything you need to easily manage projects of any complexity.
How MeisterTask works
is a direct competitor to another popular Trello project manager and uses the same workflow principle - kanban.
For each project, you create a separate dashboard to which you can add columns with related tasks. Each column represents the current status of the task. A classic example: you can create columns "Next in line", "In work", "Completed" and move tasks between them depending on their status. This approach provides a very visual control over the situation in the project.
The task is a card that opens on click. Expanding it, you can add a due date, timer, tags, description, a list of subtasks and attach various files. There is also a block of comments for discussing the work on the problem.
Having opened any project, on the right side of the screen you will see a panel with two tabs: "Activity" and "Filter". The first one displays the actions of project participants, and the second one allows you to filter tasks by the participants to whom they are assigned, as well as by tags, due date and status.
The creator of the project can add participants to it by sending invitation letters by email. He also controls their level of access to tasks. In the "Statistics" menu, the creator sees reports and metrics with information about the progress of work and the amount of time spent on tasks by different participants.
Interaction with other services
An important distinguishing feature of MeisterTask is the ability to integrate with a mind map editor from the same development team. In the latter, you can depict any project in the form of a visual diagram, indicating logical connections between task blocks, and then synchronize them with a new project in MeisterTask. This will help you sort things out if you have really difficult work ahead of you.
In addition, MeisterTask is able to interact with other services. These include GitHub, BitBucket, Office 365, Slack, and ZenDesk. For example, by connecting Slack, you can add new tasks to MeisterTask directly from this messenger.
Plus, there are functions for importing tasks from Trello and Asana services.
Tariffs and restrictions
MeisterTask is free to use. But in this case, you will not be allowed to view the statistics of completed tasks and connect more than two third-party services.
With a $ 9 per month subscription (per user), you will remove these restrictions and receive several bonuses. Among the latter are options for designing projects and settings for automating work with tasks.
Mobile versions
Besides the web version, MeisterTask is available as mobile apps for Android and iOS.
General impression
MeisterTask is one of the most beautiful, functional and user-friendly project management services. Fans of the Kanban methodology should definitely get to know him better.
If you compare MeisterTask with Trello as the closest analogue, it won't be easy to find a clear winner. In general, both services are very similar, and most of the differences between them boil down to minor nuances.
At the same time, Trello interacts with a lot more services. In addition, it has existed for a longer time, and therefore still looks like a more polished product than MeisterTask, which is especially noticeable in the work of mobile applications.
But integration with mind maps, detailed statistics of work results and a built-in time tracking mechanism can be found only in MeisterTask.
