Tic-tac-toe is one of the very first logic games, with which almost everyone gets acquainted in early childhood. But today I will tell the readers of MacRadar about the most unusual interpretation of this game of all that I have ever seen in my life.

I present to your attention Tic-Tac Cubed - an amazing three-dimensional version of this popular game with a deep social connotation:) After all, it is not interesting to play tic-tac-toe yourself, so there is a reason to meet friends, chat, have a good time and hold a mini-championship, in which only the most dexterous and attentive will win.

However, for a start, I propose to figure out what Tic-Tac Cubed is. The usual game of tic-tac-toe on the 3x3 square ends quickly, after a few moves it is easy to predict which of the opponents won or managed to bring the round to a draw. Therefore, in Tic-Tac Cubed, the developer added a third dimension, which can significantly affect the tactics, strategy and chances of opponents to win.

The field for "incendiary battles" resembles another logic game - the Rubik's cube. Therefore, the player, depending on his desire, can either tap on the square and add his piece to it, or turn one of the sides of the cube, thus preventing the opponent from making a move and winning (however, in this case, you will no longer be able to put your piece on the playing field).

But if you suddenly want to diversify the game process even more and get the most out of it, then at the very beginning, choose a mode for three people, in which you will not be bored, I am sure.

Perhaps regular blog readers will think that they have already seen a similar Rubik's cube somewhere. And they will be right, since at the end of July last year I talked about the Cubiculous game, created by my old friend Alexander Polyakov. Therefore, I invited him to take part in a short interview and answer a few questions.

MacRadar: What happened to Cubiculous, why did it disappear from the App Store?

Alexander Polyakov: We got a letter from Seven Towns, which apparently owns the rights to the Rubik's Cube and several patents describing the 3D model of the cube and even its color. And since my goal was to make the most realistic application, I didn't want to change anything and circumvent patents.

MacRadar: What inspired you to create Tic-Tac Cubed?

Alexander Polyakov: Honestly, the creation of the game was prompted by the desire to cross something with something, and the idea of the gameplay has already been developed by ourselves. Plus, I had a piece of the game ready that was no longer used - so why not screw tic-tac-toe to it?

MacRadar: Are there any limitations in the SDK or iPhone hardware that would hold back the developer's capabilities and desires?

Alexander Polyakov: I don't know, but I'll tell you for sure: the SDK has everything for tic-tac-toe:)

MacRadar: Finally, what do you expect from iOS 5?

Alexander Polyakov: As a developer (and even more so as a developer for old Java 2 ME phones), I was happy with everything already in iOS 3. Apple has a lot of APIs, they are logical and consistent. Operating system designers are many steps ahead of anything I can think of. So I'm not even going to guess.

As a user, I want the device to have a little more freedom to connect with the outside world - syncing music, documents, and less attachment to iTunes. But this is not an argument in favor of other devices. I would not say that it is easier for others to do this, even if it is “freer”.
