Tunesque - Easy iTunes Store Search for Mac
Tunesque - Easy iTunes Store Search for Mac

Apple owns one of the largest media content stores in the world. But, unfortunately, the iTunes Store is rather poorly represented on the Internet, as a result of which it is much easier to find a needle in a haystack than a certain program, music or book. And then the free utility Tunesque appears "on the scene", which I would like to tell the readers of MacRadar about.

Probably every Mac owner has seen an icon in the form of a magnifying glass in the menu bar, which hides behind itself a very powerful and useful tool for finding everything and everyone on a computer called Spotlight. Marco Tabini decided to use a similar model for his program, so after installing Tunesque you will have another icon in the menu bar allowing you to access a similar search bar.

The user is required to enter only the name of the desired application / artist / book, etc., and Tunesque will try to do everything by itself:

In a couple of seconds, the program will generate a list of found results, sort them by categories that can be hidden using hot keys, and when you hover the cursor, you will see the icon (or cover), description and rating of the highlighted item. By the way, after a recent update, the program has become even more convenient to use, since links began to open directly in iTunes or the Mac App Store, bypassing the Internet browser:

In the settings dialog, the user can select a list of categories to search for, a color scheme, assign a global keyboard shortcut to display Tunesque, etc.
