For a long time, the Mac version of this player topped the top free apps in the App Store, and audiophiles with iPhones have been eagerly awaiting mobile VOX. It was announced back in December last year, but the release took place only yesterday. The novelty has taken all the best from its "older brother", and this is good news.
First of all, VOX for iOS is a direct competitor to the standard Music app. And the competitor is serious. You can link your SoundCloud and Last.fm accounts to the new product, as well as connect Loop - a personal and unlimited cloud storage for your music library. By the way, its use will cost you $ 50 per year. And this, for example, is half the price of 1TB in Dropbox.
On the one hand, this is beneficial, but if your library is limited to MP3 and AAC music, then using iTunes Match will be much more logical and economical. The annual subscription will cost 800 rubles ($ 15), and the files with low bitrate will be automatically replaced by the system with identical ones from the iTunes Store in the best quality.
Like the more recently unveiled Tidal streaming service, VOX will be truly appreciated by audiophiles who buy iPhones with 128GB of internal storage, external amplifiers and headphones that cost like a brand new smartphone. This player supports FLAC, APE, WMA and CUE, which you can never play in standard Music, and the equalizer is available right from the playback window. I was only upset by the lack of a full-fledged multi-band interface: the sound can be adjusted only within the limits of even numerous, but standard presets.
However, VOX's audiophile focus is far from its only strength. The player just has a great design, which is head and shoulders above the standard iOS solution. The creators of the application did an excellent job on the navigation. All the main actions here are implemented with swipes, and this makes using the player on the go a great experience that does not require you to be dexterous in hitting the small button in the corner of the screen. In addition to all this, VOX uses its own Audio Engine, which in theory should provide the best sound. I confess, using three pairs of different headphones and home acoustics, I did not notice a difference in the playback quality.
VOX developers (Ukrainian, by the way) managed to create the best music player for iOS. It is beautiful, convenient, replaces two applications for SoundCloud and Last.fm lovers at once, provides unlimited cloud storage for the subsequent streaming of your music library, and also knows how to play tracks in the highest quality. If you live in music or are simply looking for a more functional replacement for the standard Music, the choice is obvious.

The default solution for listening to podcasts on iOS is bad. It's not just bad, it's really terrible. Instead of doing just works, it does just not works: the strange logic of podcast unloading from custom RSS feeds, not all podcast episodes that are in the App Store reach me.
