Gmail is the most popular email service of all time. However, Google decided not to rest on its laurels and began developing the next generation email client - Inbox. Will he be able to replace the popularly loved Gmail? We found as many as six reasons for an affirmative answer to this question.
1. Categories of letters
Inbox has a very handy feature that automatically categorizes emails. Smart algorithms are able to distinguish the subject of letters, group similar ones and place them in one of the appropriate categories. If any of them slipped past, then you can put it in the desired collection yourself. In the future, Inbox will remember your actions and will work without errors.
In the settings of the categories, you can also specify the time of their display. For example, you can set up Inbox so that the folder with letters from social networks is displayed only once a day and does not distract you with its presence during working hours.
2. Saving links
There are a huge number of different bookmarking services and extensions, but people still keep sending links to their inbox. Therefore, the developers of Inbox made sure that it was at least convenient for users to do this. They released a special extension for sending links, and also created a special category in the mailbox where you can easily find them.
3. Calendar and mailbox reminders
The calendar and email client are the most essential tools for any business person, so their mutual integration is welcome. Now, reminders created in Google Calendar can be viewed directly in Inbox, and vice versa. You can also attach a reminder to any of the emails, thus turning it into a task displayed in the calendar.
4. Postponing letters
Inbox has a very convenient option to hide emails from the Inbox folder for a while. You just need to select one of the preset values or set your own time so that the letters you do not need at the moment are moved to temporary storage in the "Deferred" folder. At the appointed time, they will appear again in the "Inbox", and you can continue to work with them.
5. Newsletter digests
If you subscribe to several daily newsletters, then Inbox will help you get to know their content faster. Based on the letters received, a special digest is created containing only the most interesting content. This will save you a lot of time, especially when there are already a lot of letters in your mailbox.
6. Smart reminders and replies
No one is surprised by the Google hints that appear when typing a search query. Similar technology is used in Inbox when creating a reminder. The next step in this direction was the phrase templates that the postal service offers to use when writing a response letter. Moreover, they are selected in accordance with the context, so sometimes you don't even have to write anything yourself: you can just choose one of the options offered by Google.
Well, convincing? Have you already switched to the new Inbox email client or are you still sticking to your usual Gmail?
